They removed it from the GT1030, something that would have made that card very usable.

Ahh I remembered wrong they added nvdec for gp108 not nvenc, predecessor gm108 lacked both. So while true it is possible, I still doubt they would remove it on tu117 though. Nvenc has been feature on GTX gaming cards.

I'm betting that'll happen but likely late this year or early next.

Yes, Nvidia rebranded mx100 series laptops to mx200 series, which sounds to me like there's no new entry level Turing gpu on the line up any time soon. But yeah maybe next year on 7nm EUV or even 8nm samsung mobile node.

I don't see this card beating the GTX 1060 3GB and at 179USD this is another overpriced, under performing card like the GTX 1050 Ti. If you take the GTX 1070 and GTX 1660 Ti as roughly equal in performance (1920 Pascal cores vs 1536 Turing cores) with the 1660Ti's memory bus deficiency (192bit vs 256bit) being made up by using faster GDDR6. Then the GTX 1650 needs 921 CUDA cores to match the 1060 3G (1152 Pascal cores) in GPU performance, plus the 1650 has a smaller memory bus (128bit vs 192bit) than the 1060 3G with both using GDDR5. Of course, I am not accounting for the possibility of increased core or memory clocks for the 1650, since its clocks cannot be too crazy if it is going stay in the 75W limit. And its not that I am hating on the 1050Ti and 1650 - I love that you can buy low profile and single slot 1050 Ti's. But it seems Nvidia is charging a premium for that power efficiency both the 105Ti and 1650 which they only have from being smaller (therefore cheaper to make) GPU dies.

If this isn't a 75W (no 6-pin) while sparing with a RX 580 I'm not seeing it making a any real difference... unless it's MSRP's for like $150. Let's hope Nvidia will grace this with 4Gb though still on 128-bit... IDK. Or, thinking Full HD-capable max game settings from 3Gb of GDDR5 working 192-Bit for such level of GPU... is so 2016.

Here in the U.S. RX 570 4Gb are seeing prices like $130 *No Rebate* with two games, or $120 with a Rebate and still the two games. Bring just to best a 570 though priced 35-40% more is no big thing in 2019.
