That's fine, then go to AMD and enjoy the 6 months between official drivers.

What kind of math is that?
100-82=18%
129-119=10%
You are using percentage points, while I calculated the difference in actual percentages, which means more (evens out the baseline difference) in this case.
Sure there is a little slip in relative performance, but the OP is claiming the 7970 is now faster than the 780. There is nothing that proves that.
True, he's wrong about it and raging about it here is entirely useless anyway. If he wants to actually change something, he should do his homework better when buying a GPU (the Titan Z was always a poor deal), and vote with his wallet.

Whatever you did, you did it wrong. In 2013, the 780 was the baseline, so there is no need, or even any way possible, to fudge the numbers in any way and come out with anything other than 18%.

You remember how we were all wondering who in the world was buying a Titan Z for $3,000 for gaming when they first came out. Well, now we know.

No, I didn't calculate it wrong. The 780 was indeed the baseline, and from the chart you directly see that the HD 7970 is 18% slower than the GTX 780. At the same time, the GTX 780 is (100 / 82) * 100% = 22% faster than the HD 7970, which is what I originally said. Basic maths. I only said it that way to make it easier to compare the performance difference in the 2 charts with different baselines.

the realities of today they say only one thing, if you compare the work to optimize the drivers of each of the competing companies:
2013 - 780 > 7970
2014 - 780 = 7970
2015 - 780 < 7970
Nvidia just have cheated people for money. that only is the ratio of performance to dollar most expensive nvidia's card ever made GTX Titan-Z - now it is extremely low, it is unacceptable! What a shame nvidia, what a shame.... and all kepler users must repeat this many times on nvidia forums, on nvidia partners forums, etc.
what would cause nividia to deal with their mistakes and don't repeat them again.
sorry for bad english im russian)
We need nvidia Kepler driver optimisations for all new games
GTA 5 / Project Cars / Mortal Kombat X / Witcher 3.
Mortal Kombat X is just down to shit programming from HVS not nVIDIA.

I think I know why. I'm guessing this thread is something @Kreij once called a CCT, or a Crap Containment Thread, explained as used by mods to keep the majority of forum nonsense in one location. And since it's the start of a holiday weekend, I think it's a pretty good idea ;)

But the 780 is what we are discussing, why make the other card the baseline? It makes no sense to do it that way other than to make the numbers seem worse than they are.

And in the end it doesn't matter because the claim was that the 780 is now slower than the 7970, which isn't true at all no matter how you try to manipulate the numbers so the whole thread is baseless.

Well, if you want to put it the other way, the HD 7970 in 2013 was 18% slower than the GTX 780, while in 2015 it's 7.8% slower according to TPU. I'm not trying to make the numbers seem worse than they are, I just wanted to make it easier to compare the 2013 results against the 2015 results if someone was actually interested in them. The difference is significant, but the one who started the thread is clearly exaggerating the performance boost (or purposefully lying about it) that the HD 7970 has got over time - I do agree on that. It is still clearly slower than the GTX 780, and will most likely always be.
