I'm expecting a small bump in performance between 5% and 10% on the RTX 2080. It will be interesting to see some Super reviews here. Hopefully Nvidia has sent TPU some cards so the reviews can be available on launch.

let's hope they open up the power valves an extra notch too for overclockers. turing can handle it easily, Nvidia just milking it as much as they can. if the SUPER editions allow a little more wiggle room for overclocking on top of the more cores... I hate to say it but I might have to abandon my Navi plans... lol... poor AMD they can never fully catch up as much as I wish them to :(

I don't know what the mark up on a chip like a 2060 is but I suspect that it's more than it really needs to be for Nvidia to make a nice profit. Having said that, the 2060 released for $350 here in the USA which is $50 more than the 1060 6GB released for but obviously the 2060 was bound to cost more because it costs more to manufacture. It's almost 2 1/2 times bigger than the 1060 chip and the 2060 has 10.8 billion transistors versus the 1060 with 4.4 billion transistors and the faster GDDR6 VRAM costs more than what went into the 1060 cards.

Had Nvidia left out the Tensors and RT cores and just added more CUDA cores then probably people would be ok with the $350 price tag but they wanted to push Ray Tracing.

They did come up with a GTX 1660 Ti for $280 but gimped it with 1536 cores versus the 2060 with 1920 cores. There's just not a lot of appeal to me for these Turings. The Super lineup will be better but I will have to see the pricing.

So they'll be willing give you a card that's 15% improved (perhaps like a 5700 non-X ) working from higher binned chip and the cost of an additional 2Gb memory and they'll do a straight trade? So that basically Nvidia; you purport the RTX 2060 6Gb had a super extortionate margin built into it all along to cover this presto-change-o? Either way the optics are bad!

Nvidia margins, judging by the financial results, are still very good, so even though the cards have large dies and expensive GDDR6, they should not be earning as little as people think!

And now they will have more serious competition with Navi, they can not facilitate so much! As I said, I believe Nvidia will raise the price again, but if they need to, they should have room to go down!

IDK a TU106 at 445 mm² even on 12nm, is probably as costly as a Navi at 251 mm² (~44% smaller) working 7nm. A reason Nvidia can hold at 12nm is they're much more successful in having ability to segregate (bin) more derivatives and find home for little scrap. I don't know of anybody who has subscribed to a notion that Nvidia margins/earnings could take on or be termed... "little", and don't see them making any course correction.

will have more serious competition with Navi, they can not facilitate so much! As I said, I believe Nvidia will raise the price again, but if they need to, they should have room to go down!
What are saying... Very double speak ...First you indicated any such SUPER will maintain with the original MSRP, now saying "Nvidia will raise the price again" But if this SUPER goes up, that means that gives them room to go down? Still sound like more slight-of-hand.

SUPER mildly interested over here.

SUPER annoying naming for a GPU

probably going to super avoid this anyway. Its still old node Turing.

Is it just me or does this scream Chinenglish? "Super." Really? REALLY?!? Super is a word that has largely fallen out of the US-EN lexicon.

They could have at least gone for SUPER GAMING

Sad times really, they have plenty of wiggle room when it comes to performance and efficency and they haven't even gone 7nm yet.

Define "budget" choice. Cause you know when a supposedly midrange card goes for 400USD, then we had long left "budget" moniker on the roadside somewhere...

Yep, a $400 card is not midrange in terms of pricing, at least in my opinion. Budget to me would be like $200-350 or thereabouts. High end would be $400-600 and Enthusiast would be anything north of $600.

I'm super unimpressed.

Ya, I'm going to be patient and give Nvidia a chance to show performance on the newer 2080 Ti Super before I judge that card, but I fully expect to be just as disappointed and unimpressed as I was with the original Turing launch.

Because of the pricing scheme, Turing in general is just a bad deal. I remember when W1zzard did the original review here of, I believe it was the 2080 Ti, last year one of his CONS list items was "terrible pricing" and that holds true even today. Sure wish AMD / ATI would compete at the high end again. Holding out hope that Intel will compete with their Xe card when it releases, but that's a ways off. Gaming GPUs today are just a sad state of affairs.

New cards are new prices and these prices are stunned but they will not be enough profits, they want to force more, and not just the cards of course nVidia has dropped the vertical synchronization on the monitor !And thus praises how their cards are good ? But it's all based on fraud ! That , many do not see it. So it is necessary to add at least 250 € to the monitor, and with larger monitors € 400 and more to get one full product ! This is nVidia Ripof, where are the times when you could buy the dual best GPU unit for € 600, (GTX590). The production actually went down but there was not so much inflation that it could sell the same kind of product for as much as € 5200 without tax ( 2xTITAN RTX) 2x 2080Ti for 3000 € +. These are not the prices this is a blackmail ripoff. and the victims are children! Nvidia is a pedophile for this logic, they should feel so offended !

Product refreshes happen between generations, and they usually improve value to consumers. AMD, Intel and Nvidia does it, and it's not to "kill" the competition.

The rumored new 2060 with 8G VRAM seems like a good budget choice to me.
With a 256 bit memory bus, it is what 2060 should have been from the beginning. Unfortunately this is also the card most likely to be launch at a price premium compared to its predecessor. Fingers crossed.

I don't know about these rumors about extra memory. Turing had problems with production early on and those problems were presumably fixed. SUPER are most likely just higher-clocked versions of the existing cards thanks to some maturity of the process. Broadening the memory bus is a fairly major change and those resources are most likely being put towards NVIDIA's 7 nm products, not updating 12 nm products.

Think Radeon R9 290 -> R9 390.

Just sold my 2 x 1080 TIs yesterday and was thinking of getting a single 2080 TI... I might just wait and see what happens with pricing although I've already noticed some price drops recently.
