Hey guys, I recently bought a Vaio Flip 15 - the main reason being that it has dedicated graphics in a tablet and have run into an issue.

Essentially I'll be playing a game for about 10-15 minutes, then my frames drop noticeably. Temps are fine CPU is ~75C and GPU (GT735M) ~78C max temps while playing BFBC2 or BF4. I looked through the Afterburner graphs and found utilization switch from 0 to 1 at the same point where my clocks dropped from 575 to 405mhz. It may not seem like much but it really it quite a noticeable change when playing a game.

I have tried changing the NVidia control panel option for power management mode from "adaptive" to "prefer max performance" with no improvement and also upgraded driver to 331.82 from the 311.xx. I can't remember exactly what it came with.

Anyone have any suggestions about how to fix this??

power plugged in to the wall i guess? checked windows power settings? does exiting & entering the game reset the 10-15min 'timer' or will it quickly drop (as if it were temperature related)?

OK well it does the same thing in CoD: BO1 and Ghosts. Yes it is plugged in and high performance and I've checked the advanced settings and nothing to find there.

I tried adding 10mhz on core and 20 on mem to see if that did anything to stop the utilization setting in but it did not. It did the same thing as at stock.

Here are some pics of afterburner after quitting BFBC2 once the utilization thing has set in: Max temp here is 75C

Max temp on CPU 74C

I tried going back into the game after taking these screenshots and found the utilization to be still set at 1. Perhaps it is a temp related issue? Although it was hovering around 52C at its reduced clocks so I don't see why it is temp related. :(

EDIT: I forgot to mention it is using Optimus where it will shut off the GPU when it is not required but I don't think it has anything to do with that. Also just tried downclocking and same thing happened.

Also I found this on Anandtech http://www.anandtech.com/show/6973/nvidia-geforce-gtx-780-review/5

"Utilization Limit – The current workload is not high enough that boosting is necessary"
So apparently my gpu isn't being worked hard enough...

Any suggestions?
