People who can afford top end nvidia tend to be able to afford after market cooling too XD
no hassle for them.
maybe so but for joe schmo that buys Nvidia because its the only name he knows buys it overpriced at bestbuy drops in his rig and gets pissed when it goes nuclear 15mins later
I would hope a completely unexperianced person would not buy so many gpus in one go
well what i mean is ive seen ppl fall for marketing and get nailed namely someone tried stuffing a 9800gx2 into an HP with a 350w psu and managed to get it in there and wedged used alot of adaptors to power it and POOF system gone these are the kinds of ppl i tend to deal with
i have it on good authority namely my crazy sense that some poor sap will buy a fermi gpu stuff it in a tiny hot case and then call me cause it dosent work right when he didnt listen the first time
I did. It was awesome!
Suppose you have fair point reaper hopefully they suppply them with decent cooling rather then bare minimum.
After all will only be like 10 usd more per card, I think people would rather pay 10 more for a card that's garanteed cool.
you would think they would, but joe average probably won't think that the extra cooling is needed.
Joe average is a dick, I should slap him and teach him the ways of the world XD
lol i think i started something not really sure tho
But how hot compared to GTX 280? Surely they'll do GTX 395 with pair of underclocked GTX 360s as I doubt there is any 55nm like die shrink coming, like with current cards.
Well there was the HD4870 to HD4890, maybe they'll do something similar if it is really an issue and are going to make a dual-gpu card.
ROFL that was legendary.
Them people buy a card and think automatic upgrade they dont think about temps or whatever.
Fermi better not run to hot because then there is little to no overclocking room and when they finally cool it down its almost like they cheated you. Like the original gtx260 and the revisions.
I mean that does make sense... they are having manufacturing issues, with an extremely dense/complicated design = lots'o'leakage. It probably hogs power like a 2900xt too
You got to buy me dinner first.
Can't we just eat during?
I doubt it just runs any hotter than the previous generation. These news reports are FUD imo. I think nvidia has everything under control (except releasing shit on time) For the performance increase of probably 70% over the last generation an increase in heat and power consumption is expected.
really cause ati cut power consuption and gave us a 70% increase
Heat, bah, nothing a good ol' five slot cooler can't handle. SLI would get a bit difficult tho.
i just thought of something liquid cooling on are a card i mean hell the corsair H50 works for a cpu whats to keep nvidia from using some weird ass contraption for Fermi
oh Sh!t guys, someone wrote an article that says if we stick a bunch of GPUs in a small space things will get hot
thanks for the wise remark you made my day as you obviously pwned my sarcasm skills
HOLY FUCKING SHIT FUCK! NO WAI!?!?!
lol i smell infraction for Mailman
I hate it when people sarcastically state the obvious before I do
well all this makes me feel that much better about the 5870 I got yesterday, thx Binge
