NZXT has today launched a new update to its CAM software made for PC monitoring. The latest 4.0 version bring many features to CAM with better application performance and UI design. The software has been redesigned from the ground up with a goal of improving overall user experience, with better features like nicer overall UI to prioritize showing only the most important aspects of your PC's health. There are new sections like bandwidth and resource per-process tabs that let users see where is their PC spending its resources.

The application has also seen major "under the hood" redesign as well. It is now optimized for better performance and uses less system resources. This is also important when using CAM's built-in overlay during gaming sessions as it will leave more CPU time available for the game instead of using it up. The overlay also got some enhancements like customization of what is displayed during its use for less intrusive experience. Additionally, all peripherals that were compatible with previous versions of CAM software will continue to be supported during this 4.0 release, giving users more options to control their fans, coolers and RGB lighting setups. In addition to a bright UI, there is also a choice of dark mode to blend in with your Windows theme. NZXT CAM 4.0 software is available for free download here.

Side note: Installation of this software has caused some BSODs on my system. Let us know if you are experiencing any issues yourself by leaving a comment about it here. Would love to hear your experiences.

only reason i use cam is to control my nzxt lights, most people need to watch this though.

That's from Oct 0f 2019?
At first I literally had no friggin clue as to what he was talking about with CAM....Then I realized I was on v3.7x
I'm guessing this is an update since OCTOBER so it might be alright....and if it is can someone let me know...LOL

Whenever I see "from the ground up", my red warning light turns on.
I might be paranoid, but I just don't trust these claims anymore.

I'm glad I installed that crappy software (by the way, why ALL similar software is also ugly, non-intuitive and causes system instability) to program the otherwise excellent NZXT H500i controller while testing my new build with an old sata SSD. Later, when my NVME arrived, i formatted that drive and never installed the CAM 3.7.8 (latest version at the time) again. The controller has its own memory and is working flawlessly.
No way I'm installing this on a working PC.

I can't speak for some of the "smart" features, but it works with my custom fan curves set to GPU temp wonderfully, which was NOT the case prior to this v4.x versions as it wouldn't read temps from my Radeon VII, now it will at least read the GPU edge temps and I can build my fan curves based on that.

Unless you can permanently turn any and all monitoring parts of the program off, it's still a no for me.

I had a grid v1 now a v3. Software was not good in the earlier version, was shutting down for nothing.. but since 3.6.4 I think, it works fine.

If one had all NZXT hardware, it might be OK, but it would not even recognize a nVIDIA 560Ti.

We I did try this software again and the same problem occurs, whether my LAN rig is running the X99 board or the Ryzen board I see really big framerate drops on my Titan Xp especially in CS:GO, removing CAM fixes the issue

Update, installed version 4.1.1, it's not perfect but works pretty well.
