I'm ocing my fx 6300 and i've adjusted my settigns up to 4.6 ghz.

windows reads 4.6ghz, and I had to increase my voltage an amount to boot into windows.

My cpu-z reads up to 4.3 ghz and nothing above Without getting to complicated on my other setting....had anyone else noticed cpu-z and windows reporting to be off when reading core speeds on an fx 6300??

so far my bios MHz and windows properties reads 4.6....

without being sure of my current speeds i'm reluctant to further my oc efferts.

any thoughts are welcomed.

when i'm running super pi it's capped at 4300 in cpu-z.

I've used this program to monitor many cpu's, but it's almost always reported equal to bios........

never have i had bios and windows together report different than cpu-z.

i'm recently new to amd, last time i had em was highschool and now i wanna OC this shit.. but cpu-z is telling me otherwise.

should i trust BIOS post messages or cpu z?

You may want to make sure to turn off catalyst control auto OC within the catalyst control panel, bottom right of your task bar.

This will stop your OC even if successful in bios
