Roll back the bios. Some bios versions are just not good for overclocking. Happened to me with my memory, can't overclock it (or even run at stock) after a bios update.

Might be an FSB hole.

My mobo is a p5k-vm and it doesn't like going over 350fsb (but this is due to my chip only being 800fsb)
The q6600 is a 1066 chip right? Try lowering it to 350x9, then raising it past 410. in general your motherboard should be able to handle around 450fsb.
Also, down-clock your ram back to 800 just to be sure it ins't that

drop the memory to 800, since the FSB is 400 if the memory is at 800 itl be 1:1 ratio
assuming your strap is at 400 along with the frequency

the new bios has lowered voltages. thats why its "less stable with overclocks" if u want go back to your old bios, the thing is the reason that the old one was failing to cold boot [mone does this too!!!] is because your cpu is booting at the default multiplier, and your droping its multiplier, and your only giving it voltage for its multiplier you have it set at, so its stable but only after the multiplier drops, this is an artifact of bios adjustable multipliers and stuff instid of jumpers. you definatly get much better performance with the memory at 1:1 ratio so its worth it for some people to resave bios on cold boot.

200 = 800, 266 = 1066, 333 = 1333, 400 = 1600, 533 = 2132 and at 1:1 ratio will net you 1066mhz memory, and dont expect anything to do it except a good p35 with a fan on it

p35 is QDR

i just said what to do :) set your FSB strap to 400mhz, then set the FSB to 400mhz then go down and set the ram to 800mhz, set your cpu multiplier to 6x, set the voltage to 1.100v then save your bios, then every time you cold boot, it will complain that your overclock has failed or whatever so go into the bios then save and exit and it will successfully boot :)

since you are only running the memory at 800mhz you will probably be able to get some really sweet timings, and since its 1:1 you will get the most out of your bandwidth too

you wanna overclock the ram and FSB together, and have the cpu frequency be a side effect of that.
