OC Sweet spot for i7-3770k

Hi
I want to know what is the sweet spot for voltage and/or Ghz for the chip to be alive for approximately 5 years on air?
I know that chips vary and its hard to say but I still want to ask in case somebody knows.

(P.S I got i7-3770K and Nucota NH-U12P SE2)

all i7-3770k should do 4~4,5ghz without much of a hassel but voltage isn't easy to say u find that out when u try ocing...

Your OC sweet spot is dictated by voltage, so you'll be good at the highest stable frequency you can get out of let's say 1.35v, I wouldn't go higher than that if you plan to keep your chip alive for 5 years

LOL, it all depends on temperaures too. Ivybridge uses cheap Tim instead of soldering the lid. That said, Ivy can run up to 100 degrees but I would not go that high. If you run Prime95 or Intelburn, keep loaded temps at mid 80's and your golden so it depends on cooling and voltage. You cannot strictly go on voltage.

^This. The determining factor is a balance of clocks, temps and voltage. Basically find your highest stable clock while keeping things below 80c or so while stress testing.

I changed the frequency to 4.5 without volt change and it booted to windows without problem I run IBT now and the temp got up to 97C! how is that possible without volt change?

Then your cooling is not sufficient. Back the clock down. Unfortunately with your system, you cannot overclock much.

Ivtybridge runs very hot due to Intels idiots using tim instead of soldering the lid on the CPU.

technically any voltage above the manufacturer recommended is killing your semiconductors.

Volts change based on multiplier. Being in the 90's for that workload is no big deal for these chips, really, truth be told. They are designed this way on purpose so that when they get close to "dangerous" levels, they'll throttle and down-clock to prevent damage.

Ideally, for long term use, you want to keep power consumption under the TDP, which is 77 watts. Many chips will hit 4.0-4.4 GHz with this. 4.5-4.8 GHz is around 77-125 watts. Of course, there are a few chips that do better, and some will do worse, but that's a pretty good general idea of how you can judge how good of a chip you have.

Voltage used to get there doesn't really matter, honestly. Just try to not exceed those figures. If you do not have hardware to monitor power consumption, you can try software like AIDA64.

I just changed the frequency and the LLC (Cpu PLL) to Normal instead of Auto.
Do you need to change other things?
on stock it went up to 97C wtf? mybe the thermal paste the technition put is not the noctua?
