Yeah I love the plain white light too. It just looks so crisp, and you can clearly see any dust. It makes me clean it every day or two to keep it spotless.

BTW I Checked out your rig a couple days ago and I really liked it. I love the old reference 5000 series radeons. They looked so cool. The whole build looks very nice We actually have pretty similar builds right now.

I'm not a fan of a bunch of glowing colors and stuff either.

I'm considering getting the MSI Big Bang PowerX or G1 Sniper. Fry's has a Big Bang Powerx with a huge rebate here. I can get it for almost $200, but the G1 boards are so nice. Very tough decision. I know the big bang or R3E have the best OC abilities though. I'm going to have to sleep on this.

I'm leaning towards still getting the R3E because I already have a great sound card and all of that. I don't need to pay extra for onboard audio and NIC when I already have better.

The voltage increase necessary from 3.8GHz to 4.0GHz for stability is crazy. It's so weird that just bumping the multiplier to 20 requires that much more voltage. It runs perfectly stable at 4.0 and 4.2 with HT, but I'm almost inclined to run it at 3.8 just because the voltage is so low.

The difference in performance is nothing when it comes to gaming. Synthetic benchmarks make a little difference but not much.

The load temp difference is massive too. Although at 4.0 I don't go over 70c in prime/lin so it doesn't really matter.

Just didn't know where else to write down my thoughts on this.

I am starting to think the same my temps are a bit high for my liking I may just drop down to 3.8 as well.

Load temps at 3.8 are drastically lower because it requires WAY less voltage. I love it. I will just use my 4.2 profile for when I'm benching and stick to 3.8 with hyperthreading for normal use.

Let me know how your load temps are at 3.8 and what voltage you got it down to stable. I'm still lowering mine by notches and checking stability.

I'm idling at about 36c but it fluctuates to 39c-ish. I never really go to 0% load unless I kill everything running. Some cores idle down to 32 on occasion but it's random. I'm going to tick the voltage down a bit and check load temps again.
