Following earlier reports of failing memory modules with Elpida Hyper chips, first Corsair and now OCZ Technology is stopping sales of Elpida Hyper DRAMs. Although OCZ claims it has not yet seen extended failures in its Elpida Hyper equipped memory modules, because an earlier batches were used, it is also pulling out the presumably affected memory modules and memory kits. This is OCZ's official statement:

I'm beginning to think this has something to do with the $2B financial aid Elpida received which many other companies were vying for.

oh yeah, if they started getting tons of warranty requests/cancelled orders due to a large batch of bad memory, that really would hurt them

Didn't think about that Mussels, the aid that is. I have to admit I love OCZ's statement.

    yeah you're screwed man.

(actually, i have no idea and just wanted to make you sad)

Google seems to show that the dominator GT ram is the elpida, not the one you have.

It sounds like the market is going to kill Elpida one way or another.

i edited my post to correct my mistake.

its the kingston hyperX T1 series.

im sure you know if they are hypers or not.

its not that they are crap... just be weary of them dying sooner than a non hyper chipped set.

    and to top it off....

i've heard news that SOMEONE(possibly elpida, possibly someone else, im mot going to say) is working on some 2400mhz ICs :D to replace hypers

DDR2 Blades aren't affected I think , just Blade 2000 and up...according to the OCZ forums.
