OCZ XTC RAM Cooler Issue

Hi,

My OCZ XTC Cooler arrived today, but the Fans dont spin. The LEDs show, but theres no motion. Ive tried it in the CPU socket, cha_fan2 and from 4pin Molex.

Am i missing something?

Sounds like thier dead in the water. If the lights are shining but no spinning action then all you can do is check the fans. Try spinning them when connected, kinda like jumpstarting the fan.

If you tried a 4-pin molex and nothing, then they are probably doa... unless: Do they have any sort of heat sensor control for the fan speed?

ok, ive sent a support ticket to OCZ. Looks like something i ordered on Monday will be ready to use in afew weeks, yey.

Where did you buy it from? I bought a fan off Xoxide once that had horrid solder joints resulting in the LEDs flickering and they sent me a new fan for free without me having to send the other back.

Anyways, my point is that you should generally try to rma with the place of purchase first if it's still possible to do so.

yea, i contacted OCZ and they're sending me a replacement, without even asking for evidence of my purchase.. *Quicky notes evil idea*

Note: my PWM fan on the Scythe Shuriken was also not spinning, but it was due to the Q-Fan profile. Try using it with Q-Fan off if it's a PWM controlled fan.

Ive never had Q-Fan on.

Sound/Noise doesn't bother me. I either have Music to drown it or Headset on and games. This is my main rig and i have clocked everything. To me, coolings more important.
