This is an odd one.

I just picked up Project Cars 2 , the game runs great and all , really like it. But , there is one thing that I can't explain.

My video cards has an ASUS logo LED on the side which remains on from the moment I start my PC until I shut it down. When I play PC2 , more specifically when I begin a race , the LED starts flashing eventually completely turning off once the race has loaded.

This is really weird , I have never seen thing happening in any game. What's really odd is that even that ASUS software thingy doesn't let me turn of this LED off , there's literally no way to turn it off yet this game somehow does it.

At first I kind of freaked out because it looked like the LED was flickering because of some power issue or something of the sort. But after running anything at stock and trying other benchmarks and games that stress the GPU way more I can definitely say that this is the only instance where this happens.

So , anyone got any clue what this is about ?

Some GPUs show the load that the board is at a given time by flashing those LEDs. Check in your manual to see if this is the case.

I am 100% certain the LED has nothing to do with the load level or anything of the sort , had this card for almost a year and I literally never seen it flicker or turn off with the exception of this game.

Anyway I did a little research and it turns out even the first PC did this. Something to do with Nvidia's API apparently.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
"Even the first pc did this..." - what does that mean? It did it before??

I would have reached out to asus and see what they had to say...

PC = the first project cars game I meant

It definitely has something to do with the game rather than anything else.

might have something in the config files in the game that controls them. Is the flashing sporadic, or does it look like its being controlled by something in the game?

No , it does the exact same thing every time , during the first loading screen the LED starts flashing at a constant rate and then shuts off completely once the loading has finished then turns back on only when I exit the game.

I'll look for the config file.
