Once the 6 series ATI chips come out, do you think the 5870 / 6770 will be around $150-$170 like the 4870 and 5770 are now?

Also if the 6870 is only 20% faster than the GTX 480, then the 6770 is going to be slower than a 5870, right?

its rumored the 6870 is only 20-30% faster then a 5870 meaning im willing to bet in many situations a heavily heavily overclocked 5870 will rival a 6850/6870 depending on final specs

maybe. I hope those screenies we've all seen of an 850core clock are just like beta samples or something. It's still based on evergreen a good bit so i was expecting 1ghz stock. ah speculations after speculations.

Yeah well. I don't know how to run a multi billion dollar corporation, but if I was ATI at this point I would release some benchmarks on the down low that make the chip seem nice, but not that nice.

I mean I would make it look like the chip is 20% faster than the GTX 480, but when it's released the real deal would be faster than that even.

Also, all it says is 6800 series. Maybe we're seeing a low end 6830 model benchmarks? Or a 6850 even.

Meh, so are rumors really. What really sucks is if this is the truth, I don't know if there will be decent price cuts for the 5 series. I'll reserve my emotions for when there is real information.

This also may mean that those leaked benchmarks are coming from the 6870 with the 256bit bus and all. I can't imagine what in the heck the 6970 will be.
