So is the general consensus that we will see these cards for sale tomorrow? If yes then my money is all ready and I will review these cards too for fun.

I sold everything off to get these cards at launch.... it would be very anti climatic if it was just a paper launch and these cards don't come out for a few more days.

Ouch...3dHD a disappointment...3rd party software, no native driver support :(

3D Gaming wise ... AMD waved everything away, and that's where we think AMD HD3D is going to fail.

There are no kits, there is no real driver support within the Catalyst drivers. You can play games in 3D yet you'll need to actively get support for this yourself. Meaning AMD handed out 3D game support to 3rd party vendors. To get 3D Game support you must buy software from a company like DDD (Dynamic Digital Depth), the software implementation costs 50 USD (temporary priced at 25 USD), this will allow you to play games in 3D. Unfortunately these known methods in the past always have proven to be a little icky with lack of native game support. Next to that you'll need to seek and purchase a 3D Monitor with goggles and/or find a kit that provides these.

Edit: Everything else looks pretty darn good. Just a heads up to the 3D gaming crowd.

You mean to tell me, a 230-250 dollar card, is pouncing on all GTX 470's as we know it.

and this isnt even the freakin beast of cayman cards there releasing.

Dam i should have waited to buy a 6870.

dammit.

I would have purchased that instead of this 470.

But i just did a voltage onlock on the 470 and run 900 core so its all good :toast:

3d is a lame gimmick. I don't see very many using Nvidia's 3d anyways. I've also been seeing many monitors/glasses/etc. being released lately for this. So while I agree that 3d overall is fail, I disagree with Guru3d's comments as it pertains to the 6 series.

Benchmark Scores This varies from one driver to another.
The new AMD Catalyst A.I. options can be found by opening the 3D settings page, selecting the “All” tab and scrolling down. The Texture Filtering Quality slider has three settings – High Quality, Quality (default), and Performance. The High Quality setting disables all texture optimizations...

However, as of this writing NVIDIA products do not offer a comparable anisotropic filtering option with full angle independence. The Surface Format Optimization checkbox allows improved performance in selected games that use 16-bit floating point surfaces for HDR rendering. It is designed to have no discernable effect on image quality, and therefore we recommend it be left enabled as your default.

So they are doing the same thing nv was did.

Morphological AA will become available in the December 2010 Catalyst drivers

I don't personally game in 3D myself, just wanted to point it out to those that do use it. I completely agree that it's a gimmick, and won't waste my money on 3D hardware or software (monitor, goggles, programs).

Well the cheapest 470 is $239 on newegg. Which brings me to think that Nvidia not only invested a lot in Fermi but is losing a lot of money with GF100. AMD has managed to make and improve upon 1 architecture for what? 4 generations, being behind during 3 of em. Now they're making chips that are half of Nvidia's die size with the same or better performance. Nvidia honestly can't compete right now imo, they can drop prices but being already at a loss, AMD can afford to go much lower and still make profit.
