its actually not true and in some games the Phenoms beat the I's. It depends on the types of code optimizations in use and wether the load is steady or erratic and how it read and pages from ram etc etc etc.

basically. disregard most instnaces of Intel kicking AMD's ass. Its alot of show boating and rigging going on where the code is heavily optimized for intel and heavily deoptimized for AMD.

look up the settlement with the FTC regarding AMD/Via and Intel on the code compiler they sell. Which BTW is used in a ton of benchmakrs, mostly video encoding benchmarks to boot.

But no one's arguing that, of course it all ends in the piece of code/software being ran, there is no definitive answer to what's better and what's not. Currently though, architecturally Intel is currently in the lead, with AMD crushing in the price for performance category, read up.

And both companies do that, they both write code to run well on their particular cards and then release it and go ''ohh hey everyone look!!, our cards beat their cards in these games/benchmarks!!'', when in reality they tweaked the settings/code to to run better on their own hardware, this has been happening since the dawn of time.

Edit: this isn't an Intel vs AMD thread, the original point is that he is correct. As Heaven is GPU dependent, even if they used an Intel CPU you'd only see a minor increase.

on page 99 you claimed Intel cpu's are faster in games then AMD's. I refuted that assertition as it is in fact poppycock.

No shit both companies do it. It doesn;t take a smart man to figure out the ford and chevy screw each other over everytime they can. the truth is however with intel and AMD in the past goes something like this.

Both comapnies build 400hp engines. Intel changes the fuel blend at the pump and delibrately cuts the hp of the AMD engine by 50%.

and that is the only gas you can get at the pump.

so its not what it looks like.

Where, i want to see that...quote the post on the last page where i said anything about Intel being better in games vs AMD.

btw, as i said in my last post this isn't an Intel vs AMD thread so bring it down.

The lowest 580 sells for $520 @ the egg ... if the 6970 is just 10-15% slower than the GTX580 and sells for $370 ... i'd say its a clear winner ... :) .... but lets see reviews first ...

That really sucks, i got conned out over something like £145 (inc shipping to the con artist of a buyer) but at least i didn't have any plans for the money the fact paypal has pretty much yoinked your money for the next 2 months causing you to lose out while they gain interest from your money is just messed up.

Sue them for mental anguish!

You're pissed right (from what i've read, with good reason)? It will put you back for quite a while right (60 days)? Don't these qualify for a sue?

Normal prices are $399 for 6970 and $329 for 6950. $30 off each to clear them out before christmas. This is a real hard launch, for once.

It's there at the 'egg, if you look for it.

dosent matter most of these reviews are garbage using 10.10 drivers amd dosent even really have a 6900 series driver ready this is a pretty damn lame release. cant blame the reviewers tho AMD apparently just manages to reinforce the notion there drivers suck lol makes me feel kinda sad
