If that pic by snick is a Photochop it's a good one. I can't see any imperfections...But, the pixel fillrate shouldn't be less. It should be more.

I was thinking that image is what many wished cayman would be then wondered what the spec of the dual chip card would be only to realize a wonderful thought

What if the dual chip card could be a single chip dual core card, it could allow for card markers like asus to make a quad crossfire single card product  *thinks back to the 3dfx voodoo 5 6000* just think it would only have taken about 10 years to get back to a quad core card

That's my crazy rumor bet for antilles, it will be dual chip, quad core card and be so power hungry it takes a page out of 3dfx's book and sells it with an external power supply

My rumor is way more exciting than that fake screen shot

It's a png, which is a good start for a good photochop job in a picture with so many plain areas like a GPUZ shot.

Quick game, find 7 differences.

Oh wow 448 rops and 2MB memory bus, i can't wait for cayman to be released... oh wait what's that you say? it's already out and this is just another fake screen shot awww and there i was getting my hopes up:p

I really can't see 7 differences though, what are they?

That dual core GPU thing was talked about way back during the pre release of the 4000 series. So that's nothing new as far as speculation is concerned. :p

Shhh it's a secret :p

 Yea i know it's a rumor that's came around quite often and i expect with the changes in architecture with cayman it will probably come up again for the 7xxx cards next year, to be honest i think it will keep coming back into rumors until it finally happens

Which driver to use

Hey I just got my xfx HD 6870 back and I'd like to know which driver is the best for it. I had downloaded the new 10.12 catalyst from amd site, but later have read something that it doesn't support it. Its the first time I bought a "high end" card like this one so I didn't worry about drivers before.
If there is a better one can you may be provide a link?

And should I install the ATI Catalyst Application Profiles on a single configuration?
What are the limitations installing on a pci-e 2.0 instead of 2.1?

Yes it does support it. The HD 6870 has been out for several months B4 the HD 6970 release, so theres loads of support.

If you like you should try the 10.12 beta from AMD just until the new official 11.0 CCC come out for the new year...

didn't you read wizz review ?

btw i really want to see how HD 6970 in CF, especially after seeing how well HD 6950 scalling
The HD 6870 in CrossfireX scales real good and kills the HD 5970 and GTX 580 in Price/Performance. Also Wiz's review of the HD 6950 in CrossfireX also shows it scaling even better. I think AMD did a real good job for CrossfireX this time round. It's a good time to Crossfire... :toast:
Thanks than I'll install the official 10.12. The 10.12a hotfix looks like it's especially for the enthusiast hd 6900 series. And later update to the 11.0 when its released.
The 10.12beta is not really a beta, it just adds support for the HD 6900 series, that is the one I suggest you try. it works out great for me.

Does anyone else have problems with the 10.12 driver with new control center. It just won't start?
What should I do?

I just installed my 2 6970's and updated to 10.12a. Now, my screen brightness is incredibly low (as soon as the drivers installed, the brightness just dropped).

When I uninstalled the drivers to reinstall them, the brightness level returned to normal. As soon as they were re-installed, the brightness dropped again. Gonna try a full driver sweep when I get home to see if that fixes the issue.
