Old PC gfx upgrade GTX770>970

hi all , got a ye olde system ( check specs)

Thinking of trading in the GTX770 2gb for a GTX970 4gb , can get 1 for about £50 plus the 770 , is it actually worth it? or is the rest of my system to slow that it won't make much if any diff?
Just wondering if i can squeeze a bit more out of what i have

You're already held back by the rest of the system. Sure the 970 would be a nice bump but sadly you might not see it.

970 still has some jam left in it, I’d hit it for 50 bucks.

That q9450 can barely push the 770 you have, there's no point in buying a 970 as it will be even more limited, save 100 notes and buy an 3/4th gen i5 system, plenty of which are available on Ebay at those prices, it would be a much wiser purchase, with usb3, pcie3, ddr4 etc

You sure about Haswell having DDR4? Honestly getting a 2600x or similar would be better for the long term over a 4690k/etc.
