Hello there TPU.
I grew up on Playstation, N64, Sega Saturn etc etc, my gaming experience may well be vastly different to other PC gamers, i started PC gaming properly in 2009, however my first introduction to PC gaming was with Delta Force Black Hawk Down in 2003 where i went onto the multiplayer and had never experienced such a thing before, this would be my first time ever playing online, however i was weak with the keyboard and mouse. Skip to today and i'm well above average at FPS games, Global Elite in CS, etc etc. Black Hawk Down i absolutely loved the feeling of KB+M i was just too bad with the combination.

I am revisiting the PC MOH series since this is one of the all time great franchises of old times, more so than COD IMO even though COD games in early inception were amaze balls :)

Anyone want to help me out and suggest other games that are down right excellent? Don't have to be FPS genre too :) :lovetpu:

It depends how far you want to go back really :)

1999 - Silent Hill & Alpha Centauri
2000 - Shogun, Diabalo II, Homeworld & Mechwarrior 4 (Previous ones are also pretty damn good)
2001 - Black & White, Max Payne & Civ III
2002 - Dungeon Seige, Battlefield 1942 & Hot Pursuit 2
2003 - Sim City 4, Galactic Civilizations and Deus Ex: IW

It was about 2003 when I took a 5 year break from gaming/computers and didn't even own one, so maybe someone else can pick up from there?

I have this game, i found it in between my fathers collection of DVD movies and CD's at his house, he no longer has a PC so well he was fine with me taking it, so that's definitely one i will be trying out :)
Cheers for the list! I have emulators set up as i have a pretty sizable console collection that i never sold, i have been gaming since the age of 5 LOL so i have a lot of stuff. Silent Hill PS1 is awesome.

Generally i missed a lot of PC stuff.

My very first computer was also when I was around 5. I got an Amstrad CPC 464 and the first game was "Animal, Vegetable or Mineral" I later discovered Elite and Target Renegade and those 2 became my favourites for many years :)

I'm not as old as some of y'all but the Ratchet and Clank series for the PS2 is where it hits home for me.

Nice.

My computer order goes Amstrad CPC 464 > Mega Drive 1 > 486 DX2 (+my bro's PS1) > 486 DX4 > Pentium MMX > Celeron Covington (60% oc on that thing!) > AMD Duron (another 60% overclock) > No computer > Pentium 4 > E2180 > E3110 > i5 2500k

There might have been a couple of steps in there I have since forgotten and I'm omitting the laptops I had.

The first few games in the Tom Clancy Rainbow Six series I still love the tactical planning. It's a game I go back to when I get that Windows 98 nostalgic feeling.

Will definitely see where i can get those games.

On a side note i am having a bit of trouble with 1 PS1 game, you would think my hardware was ridiculous overkill for a PS1 game, but nope it slows to like 13FPS! o.0

Here's my list of mandatory games:
1) Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura - my favorite turn-based RPG of all time
2) Definitely Half-Life
3) Myst series (at least play Riven and Exile). I own the entire series on CD/DVD (except Uru)
4) Deus Ex. Still have a box version of it somewhere in the closet
5) TES III: Morrowind(!). My cousin just started a campaign on his old laptop, and I think it is time for me to start another yearly playthrough.

Oh, i just remembered one. You absolutely must play I-WAR if you have any interest in space sims. It about 20 years old now, I believe. However this one game get me hooked on space sits forever. Unfortunately, I have yet to play a game with remotely similar mechanics.

Will definitely see where i can get those games.

On a side note i am having a bit of trouble with 1 PS1 game, you would think my hardware was ridiculous overkill for a PS1 game, but nope it slows to like 13FPS! o.0

The original Ghost Recon (all 3 games)

And obviously not at this price, but American McGees Alice from 2000 if you can find a decent used copy. Be on the lookout for it! It will play with W10 with some finnessing.

UPlay (which I'm not a fan of) had the entire collection a while back for pretty cheap, and UPlay (surprisingly) hasn't caused any issues when launching/playing them. Might want to check there.

Benchmark Scores -
Gran Turismo 3 for the PS2. The graphics were amazing back then (I still think it still holds up pretty well even today!) and it arguably has the best selection of music for the soundtrack out of all the Gran Turismo games in the series.
