shouldnt be any issues, reenter the reg keys if the program asks you to. simple stuff.

Registry and profiles are the problem in some cases. Many programs work without them though. Nearly all games as well. Using portable apps can be a solution as well.
I use a network disk to install games and have one with portable apps. I can run nearly everything from any computer without any issues.

Your programs may complain...
There's more (unfortunately) to the installed program than just the files in "Program Files".
There are registry keys, app data (in user folder).
This may not work.

If you still want to try, consider using NTFS Junctions or Hardlinks.
Essentially, you can move any folder anywhere, and then create a hardlink in a place it was before, pointing to the new location.
All applications and OS will be "fooled" and still able to access it from location it expects, even it's really on different hard drive.

This nice tool makes creating links easy:

Why would anyone want this anyway? That would mess all things up. Not to mention that some programs might require .net, vc++ or directx libraries or needed to install some files into system directory.

mess what up exacly?

if the program needs a file it will ask for it.... so install that file and be on your way... why would you bother installing the same program twice? seems like a waste of space to me.

if you don't want to have two copies then just run that program from live cd or dvd or usb, it'll be faster and more effective. Plus no orphan files/folders
