:)

* Have @ it - fastest + most secure web-browser on the planet "urth"!

(& FREE to boot!)

Using it now to post this in fact... it's VERY nice, ACID2 test compliance, & iirc, first to pass it in fact as well...

It also seems to take up less memory (and it was nice before, less than FireFox/Mozilla in 8.54 even iirc) now even!

E.G.-> 8.54 takes up 30mb right now, & by comparison, 9.0 takes up 22mb!

APK

P.S.=> As to my statements above?

About Speed:

The URL below is the MOST even-handed browser speed comparisons page I have ever run across online, that covers IE/Mozilla variants/Opera & across multiple OS platforms as well, where Opera blows away the competitors (especially in Windows, and even in other OS too):

http://www.howtocreate.co.uk/browserSpeed.html

About Security:

Heck - hit secunia &/or securityfocus.com, (or some other security-breach reporting website) & see if any other web-browsers out there (e.g.-> IE &/or FireFox-Mozilla variants) has less bugs/less vunerabilities than Opera does...

About development API's/SDK's & extensions (like FireFox Mozilla have):

Lookup "Opera Widgets" and "AJAX":

It's just as possible & simple to create them for Opera as it is via XUL in FireFox - the toolsets exist for extensions as well!

ALL THAT, & BitTorrent built-in client support & IRC + Email too, right in 1 fast/light package... apk

FireFox is good stuff, I helped their development team spot a bug with a forum I used to go to & fix it. The coolest part of all this? They mailed me, THAT day (day I found it), & came to us @ that forums & spoke to us all... & did a fixed build, right there!

(Talk about personable service!)

Plus, I run it here, but steer clear of piling TOO many "XUL extensions" onto it, because you've probably noted it yourself: It can slow FireFox to a crawl. I think this only applies to CERTAIN ones I have used, but it happens.

(Not knocking extensions really, some are TOTALLY awesome & useful - but this also has introduced security hassles in the past too (ala/e.g.- GreaseMonkey extension))

* I think you'll see Opera is a GOOD web-browser though (had things in it before FireFox such as tabbed browsing, which everyone seems to think was a Mozilla/FireFox innovation - it's not!)

The extensions I use are Adblock (it's amazing once you set it up right), IE Tab (for those pages that hate firefox) and the Download Accelerator Plus Plugin (for all those slow download servers!). I'll download this later.

Well, it does look quite nice nowadays compared to a couple of years back, but I think my tweaked firefox settings are just a quick, possibly a tad faster. It will still overtake IE as my second choise browser I expect, but Firefox is just too amazing, going to start a poll to see which people prefer!
