Benchmark Scores Typical for non-overclocked CPU.
Don't double adapter create their own latency problems?
I don't know. My understanding was each device uses x4 lanes, this card allows you to tap into the bifurcated x8(x4/x4) slot. You might want to check your bifurcation options first before making the purchase. For example my X570 Taichi will do x8/x8 or x8/x4/x4 or x4/x4/x4/x4 but my X570 Taichi Razer will only do x8/x8 or x8/x4/x4 for some reason making it a no go to use the first slot on the Razer.

Any input on how I can fit my chonker 7900xtx in the second slot and preserve my third PCIE slot? It's so big it encroaches over the bottom slot.

Good chance I'll just live with it how it's functioning now because my gimped p5800x still destroys everything comparable.

Other than replacing the cooler on the video card or going liquid, none that I'm aware of.

32,000 is still pretty good, especially given that a huge chunk of that score where it matters (latency and random performance).

I am actually hooking this riser from my bottom PCIe as it is blocked by radiator and fan, this riser is thin and I screw it up a bit... you can put it in vertical or whatever, use the smaller SFF bracket

So I swapped my drive to PCIE_1 and moved my GPU down. Here's the results. HUGE gains.

can't believe my p5801x hit 1.56 million IOPS

So I reinstalled my windows 11... got HUGE improvement. Not sure why (can someone help me explain???)

p5800x 800gb and p5801x 400gb, respectively.

Your storage driver seems to have changed when you re-installed windows despite using the exact same hardware.

Looking up info on your old storage driver, it appears IAStorAC is a system driver associated with Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST). This driver handles RAID and ACHI.

The thing with RAID is that it tends to interact poorly with Optane so I have to wonder if simply using a RAID driver but not actually having RAID enabled could have resulted in lower than expected performance. Of course it could also just be Intel jank, after all IAStorAC is known to cause BSODs.

Pretty interesting case study I suppose
