Optimal Corsair PSU temp

Does anyone know what temperature I should be trying to keep my PSU at? I searched on these forums but can't find a clear cut answer.

My power supply doesn't seem to turn on the fan until about 45-50'C under load which seems really high. I forced a fan profile to bring it down to 30'C, but now my fan is on 100% of the time. Pretty annoying.

Is it the cooler the better for PSU's, or is 45-50'C o.k?

How are you measuring the PSU temp?
And how did you create a fan profile for the PSU fan?
What model PSU do you have?

They are designed to run 1,000's of hours at 50C which is considered a server-grade environment load from what I've been told by Corsair support and the roaming Corsair rep on TPU. I would aim for 40C as a personal preference but with that said, keep in mind that the factory wouldn't set the fan to kick on at 45-50C if they thought the product was going to fail...that would be shooting themselves in the foot on RMA replacements and bad reviews, which can lead to lost profits and buyers.

I'm measuring the temperature through Corsair link. I set a fan profile using the same software. Unfortunately it's just a fixed percentage option. Doesn't look like there's fan curves.

If it's rated for 50 it can do 50.

But yes, we need make and model and how the temp is measured.

Edit: Then I probably wouldn't bother. It won't really affect the lifespan anyway.

I figured thank you. I swear it was kicking in earlier before the Corsair Link update... To get 30'C underload I have to run the fans @ 900 RPM's. The power supply is an HX 750i.
