Order of Cards

I got these cards in rigs, time to move around and upgrade. And to sell one maybe two depends what and when I buy.

4890 toxic these are in CF but might separate to two rigs. (My rig)

Of that group is the 4850 the weak link or the 9800. Question was is that the strongest card down to weakest. I'll probably be going to the 5 series and moving my cards down, to the other rigs. And selling the weakest in that group if not the two weakest.

I think that the 3870 X2 would be the weak link. Only 320*2 shaders vs. 800 in the 4850/70, and the 3xxx series had performance penalties when using AA.

The HD3870X2 is faster than the HD4850, mainly because its core clock puts its texture fill rate just ahead than the HD4850's and its massive pixel fill rate makes up for the AA bug, I would say get rid of the X2 and the HD4850, mainly because the 4850 is not much faster than a 9800GTX and the GTX might overclock better and has CUDA to play with down the road, the X2 uses too much power.

Why go I7 I can play all games out there in high settings. Hell when I cant play and prices are lower i'll go over.

Can you give me one solid reason what I7 would do for me but empty my wallet ?

i can run any game out there, 1600x1200 no aa or af, compared to your current rig, that's over kill, there's no need to upgrade

3870 x2 (Boys) Two generations old makes me think it should be replaced with a 5xxx series.
9800 gtx (wife's) Just looks like a lost stepchild in the sea of red.

Otherwise the 4850 would have to go.

I think Altered hit it on the nail.... sell the 9800 and 3870X2 and put the $$$ towards a 5870 the rest of the cards slide down and everyone's happy :rockout:

SWEET I was changing stuff around and it turns out that I dont have a 4850 I have two 4870s and two 4890s with the 9800 & 3870x2. I built a computer for a buddy and thought I gave him the 4870 :laugh:

Yep will be selling soon the 9800 GTX and 3870x2.

Now I got three rampages and one gigabyte board guess which one might be going on that.

Mine of course is the Rampage Extreme now that I'm home for a bit putting it under water.

Might have an old E6850 and Gigabyte board for sale soon to. Ah nice to be home to work on computers.
