I think OP is talking about the first Kepler Titan and they were better at compute. I don't know anything about workstations or rendering but I wonder if having 11 GB VRAM on the 1080 Ti over the Titan 6 GB VRAM would have a decent impact on performance for that use?

a 1080ti is almost spot on par with two 980 Ti/maxwell titans. it would be quite an upgrade, and if you're vram limited the quadros will offer more memory as well as the 16gb titan.
Alright. This is what I was looking for. Time to splurge on two of these cards!

Good call. I searched for Gtx Titan Kepler on the website and the 1080ti was almost equal to the two titans. So, either way, it still should be a pretty big leap forward for me. Plus the additional VRAM is going to be a godsend.

I'd stay with the Titans only if some DP computing performance would be needed. After Kepler, Titan's DP performance haven't been anything special when compared to similar GeForce cards. Only more VRAM and/or shaders.

Glad you're able to afford these, very nice. Which make/model did you get?I did get 2 1080ti. Very happy!For my purposes the new video cards are actually just a little more than twice as powerful as the older Kepler Titans. Now it's off to the next upgrade . . .
Anyway, I just wanted to add that I've got two MSI GTX 780 Ti Gaming cards which are faster than those first gen Kepler Titans. I compared my Palit GTX 1080 that I had at the time and found it to be a little faster than the two in SLI, therefore I'm not surprised that your 1080 Ti is more than twice as fast as those - and without any SLI issues, either.
Finally, why don't you fill in your system specs? Just go into your profile where you'll find the page there.

Anyways, I have the luxury of working at home and purchases like these are good for tax write offs. Maybe with the extra money I can afford to get my nails redone. LolI acquired two Evga Founder's Editions from a guy friend through his workplace. The cards aren't in SLI because the programs I use SLI offers ZERO benefit. And, yeah, I'll fill it out sometime. Lol
