Overclock cause to card to crash?

Hey everyone i have just tryed to over clock my graphics card with the ati tool.
I set the core to (470.25) and the memory (501.75) and the screen goes black then it restarts and say the VPU had to recover send error report so i think i must have a r430 core cos my card is the green colour does anyone no wot the best setting are to overclock to on a r430 core ???? cheers

Here... in ATI tool, set all clocks to default, them press the little button that says "find max core" - let it run and it should start finding artifacts at some speed. Make note of the speed. Set the clocks back to default and do the same to the memory. Make note of that.

Set your clocks to something slightly below the max mem/core found and run ATITool witht he 3D view open. Monitor the temperature. If it climbs above 68c, back off on your core clock and try again.

If you have the R430 core you will be lucky to get 450 out of the core and depending on your memory roughly around 550-560.

The highest i got was (Core:476.18) (Memory:500.73)
The default settings are (Core:399.21) (Memory:489.86)
wot difference would u notice if u overclocked them 2 things ??
faster gameplay???

nice overclock... the highest I was able to achieve was 457 / 564.

What difference would you notice? Basically faster FPS during gameplay. Just don't over do it and heat the card up. Keep an eye on your temps.
