$2400 for a 3090 is actually not that bad. All the manufacturers have increased the msrp to over $2k for 3090.

will end when bitcoin falls... these cards are currently generating $3600+ a year at current btc rates, so people have no issues paying for them, they're basically free cards after a few months and everyone thinks bitcoin is only going up...

So until ASICs come back or bitcoin falls, you're not buying a gaming card, you're playing games on a money making device.

that's why i bought AMD.

a 3070 costs between 1200-1500€
a 6900XT costs the same.
i paid 1249€ for a 6900XT nitro +

UK ebay prices are now around £1200 for a 3070 card and £2000 for a 3080 card.. these are real prices based on what enough people are prepared to pay to absorb the current available supply...

the rewards for mining eth are currently going down purely because a lot of people are doing it.. but if the price of eth goes up the rewards will go up again..

the price of a gpu is now based on its ability to earn money.. not play games.. lets call this the new reality..

ps.. for what its worth the real way to make money from mining is a long term thing.. forget the current dollar value.. keep mining though the slumps.. accumulate the coin and wait for the next up cycle..

I've been watching GPU prices skyrocket on the local Craigslist (3090's over $4,000). "Will only meet at local police station". When legal computer parts cost more than felony amounts of illegal drugs it's time step out of the game and reevaluate your priorities. (I'll be 37 years totally sober in two months).

Up until late last year I was buying former top-end 3-5 year old GPU's dirt cheap off Craigslist. Now I see them selling on Ebay for 5 times what I paid for them. I'm not a gamer though and am not selling any of my inventory.

i dont disagree, i too see them selling at absurd prices. i think its shameful.
regardless what a person does with their GPU, the availability should be so that people arent forced to pay 3x MSRP, or go without.
it bothers me on a moral level, as a PC enthusiast. sadly, access to a steady stream of GPu's is not something everyone has, so they are left making due with whats available, which is what scalpers count on.

One thing for sure, that would definitely make it easier for Intel to sell their first dGPU with three digit margins, say something with the performance level of GT1030 for 400$ ...

Think of how many they'd sell if they could turn a profit doing them at $150 or less. Greed is a very bad thing in the long run.

That is more than $7K for the 3090 Suprime Wonder if the price is going to change when the card gets to the store. It says April 19th. I will keep you posted

Maybe we can make a competition, who will find the most expensive 3090 and 6900XT at any store in the world if $2k is a lot, what is $7K?
