overclocking 5870 reference and non reference with voltage control

so i know that the sapphire trixx v3.... will let me control the voltages on both my reference and non reference card(thanx to xfx rma they aren't both reference anymore). Sapphire trixx however freezes my computer if i run it with crossfire. Are there any alternatives to this.. the non reference card does 980/1300 and my reference card does 1000/1300 both at 1.299v i'd like to get them there but without a tool that works i can't overclock much at all 900/1300 is what i'm at?

flash bios with higher volts(assuming cards support VID changes) and unlock CCC maximums in BIOS, clock cards with CCC, call it done.

When I had 5870s in x I had to mod the bios figures with the overclock ratios I wanted

I use msi afterburner on mine. both running 1000/1300 at 1.3v

is there anyway to tell if the card supports voltage tuning via bios, it's a non reference xfx 5870?? i know that trixx will change it.. it doesn't show anywhere i can check without a voltmeter but i hit 1000 and without the voltage tune i get like 900.. so something must be working
