Hay all,

I've just finished my water cooling loop for my ScanFX HD 6990 and XFX 6970 cards. I'm looking to increase the voltage to both cards so I can improve my overclock using CCC.

I used RBE 1.28 to increase the VID4 from 1175mV to 1250mV for the Master and Slave BIOS with the HD 6990 with no issues.

When I load the XFX HD 6970 BIOS, I don't get the option to change the GPU Registers and thus, can't change the VID4.

I've read that changing anything else but VID4 on 69xx cards can lead to issues. Can anyone offer and advice?

I think it's pretty much as the members at overclock.net have said, you have a Rev 2 card by the looks of it and therefore XFX are not using the software controllable Volterra controller for voltage.

If you want to test that it is not just RBE (which is shouldn't be), download MSI afterburner, enable unofficial overclocking and voltage control and if you then find you get the option to adjust volts (unlikely) then it's an RBE thing and not your controller.
