That Temperature is perfectly fine, as suggested anything below 60 is fine. Although the temp should be lower, I assume you are running @ stock volt?? I get the same temp with 2.6Ghz 1.40V.

right guys thanks for the advice.

i have done it near yours steve at 250 x 10 and my voltage is 1.4v my temps are now 43 to 52 (52 while playing Call of duty 2)

are these temps still pretty safe and can i push it to 2.6 (5200 wow) (is there any other settings that can keep the temp down, i already have qfan enabled and asked it to keep the cpu at 44) or is this as about as good as it gets with my fan cooler.

thanks ian

if you look at the data sheets for the x2 on amd website it says that max temp is 49-79 celcius ,my 3800 x2 runs idle at 27 celcius and around 40-45 celcius at full load

What thermal paste are you using, a good quality ones like Arctic Silver 5 will do wonders to your cpu temp. I'm not really bothered about the ASUS QFan so it's constantly running @ 100% fan speed.

If you have a good thermal paste and good airflow then it's as good as it gets. As long as it is stable then 50C 24/7 is no problem.
