my most played hero are, funnily enough, Mercy and Zenyatta at the moment (well blame the other player that play only S76 or Tracer or whatever and mess with the optimal team composition )

@GreiverBlade well, Mercy is one of the most universal heroes after all. I find her rather easy to play, since you just run around healing & gunning down enemies. Her ultimate though... with good timing, is a very powerful skill nonetheless. Also, I'm quite speechless that you get loads of skins without spending a single dollar. =3=

well .... got lucky on lootboxes lv13 atm, tho i have to admit i had a paypal leftover which i usually need for Ebay but since i did no further Ebay'ing, i put the 5€ i had on it for some boxes more tho on these boxes i got voice line, tag and a little bit of Cr, all skins came from lvl boxes, sometime 2 legendary at once .... i need to check on my girlfriend ... she might be cheating on me ... wait... errrhhh no need to concern on that ... i have none

so ... yep i spent 5€ in addition of the initial origins ed.

edit i got a play of the game with Zenyatta ... highlight a quadrakill on last capture .... offensive healer? yep ... most like it

Reaper in wight skin is ... more ... detectable than his usual self ...

altho i make a lots of laughing at the start zone ... i use the Voice line "I'm back, in black" .... i get a lot of comment on the fact that i am ... in white, with some witty comment on "ooohh a AC/DC fan".

confirmed ... i hate Bastion player in PVE tho i am fine with the bot (should also hate them in pvp ... if they are on my side )

specially in pve ... selecting Bastion in pve equal to instant play of the game by mindlessly emptying a clip in turret mode at a lemming packs of bot ... PVE, specially med, doesn't need a lot of concentration ... playing Bastion in that is .... boring.

the only game i did leave on selection screen : 4 Bastion locked on selection screen, i say ... ok i take Mercy or Zenyatta and wait for the 6th selecting a tank like Reinhardt or better D.VA so we can push forward while these 4 will get only objective guard duty ... and ... then the 6th player select Bastion ... alt-f4 ...

Well you are lucky...
I, stupidly perhaps, bought the loot boxes... (FTTWTK... 40 dollars worth on ps4)
And what did i get after opening 30 boxes...
What seems like 80% sprays!...
And for duplicate items get you 5, or 15 credits!!! Ripoff. (Should be 50 or 150, because it is a RNG, and getting the same item randomily should be worth more.

So i hope that playing the game, makes the loot system give better loot, because in my experience, you get worthless stuff.

Played the open beta and didnt really like it. Just not my style of "shooter" i guess. I have been putting a lot of time into the competitive CSGO scene so that might have something to do with it.

well wait till competitive play then naaahhh it's more like a QuakeIIIArena than CS (CSGO competitive... argh i played in competitive only on 1.5 1.6 and source ... and then got off ) altho for me any Esport/ranked/competitive defeat the fun in the game, Overwatch keep the fun for me unlike LOL or other "ranked" mmo.

the 2 latest lvl lootboxes ... 1st 2 epic ( skin + Cr reward) and one rare skin, 2nd ... legendary skin for Torbjörn (i already had Blackbeard )

I am extremely competitive, which is why I play more games online than anything. The competitive scene behind CSGO is exactly what I love about it. I love team work, coordination, and communication.

I dont think Ill ever get Overwatch. I dont like the MOBA elements like ults and all that.

well it's exactly what Overwatch is about (more in competitive once they get it up) with moba element ... indeed (it'more a MMOBA'FPS ) luckily for me there will always be an option for non competitive or ranked games
altho i majorly play mmo, i am not the competitive type but more the "fun above all" type, tho as i wrote i used to play in team on CS for a time.

D.Va is quite durable... possible best combo with Bastion & Reinhardt. Unusual combo is with Torbjorn, Pharah & Reaper. Mercy being a Swiss is something I didn't expect despite playing her for some time. The more I know. Good for u @GreiverBlade XDD

D.VA all dps no healer ... best games i've ever made ... i used self destruct and RUUUUUUUUUUN for cover, recall Meka as heal, i did hold a capture nearly solo by doing that 3 SD in a row

Well. I like the game... when I have a team that has half a brain.... sometimes everybody just runs into the battle 1 at a time.... Anybody playing in the US want to make a team or something? Comms and basic team roles would help tremendously.... and coordinated attacks etc... Playing with randoms is hella frustrating.

I really don't get the MOBA association. This If you only go by what MOBA stands for than pretty much every multiplayer game is a moba... ya not buying that. Ultimates in a FPS are not new either and I think they add to the excitement of the game even if they're frustrating to be on the receiving end of. Overwatch is very much a team based game. It is very frustrating to be on the non-cohesive team while you go up against a team that is playing well together. You get decimated almost as soon as the match begins. Overwatch is an easy game to pick up and start playing but its going to take a long time to really feel like you got a good handle on the game.

The great part about this game is it gives players the opportunity to switch characters mid-game. This allows you to adjust your strategy in response to the enemy team. Though sometimes I wonder how many players use this opportunity.

@AlienIsGOD You know, in beta I hated Pharah. You hit someone directly with a rocket and it seems to underwhelm you how much damage she does. Now in PVP I been playing her most because it seems I do best with Pharah.

I think I have the most fun playing Genji though so I'm tempted to spend my little coin to buy his Carbon Fiber skin since I have no skins for him. Not very good with him in PVP, except in Super Shimada Bros mode (weekly mode). Since you can only pick Genji or Hanzo in that mode I experimented with Hanzo for the first time. Holy hell his bow has some insane auto-aim. I kind of suck at this game and I got a 2.0 final blows kdr with him first try. On the kill cam I saw people aiming at the floor below my feet and would kill me, which seems odd. His ultimate is far easier and safer to use than Genji's though. I love zipping around with Genji though, but I really need to get better at his deflection technique. That is powerful if used right.


Frustrating parts
I'm always on the teams where no one wants to play tank or healer. If its PvE (the AI bots) that's fine as I've grown to really like Winston but I'm horrible tank in PVP. I used to be all about Mercy for healing in PvE but after getting my only pink skin on Zenyatta I've figured out how he works and he is a really good support class. But man it sucks to be the healer when everyone on your team separates because they are trying too hard to make play of the game on their own. I can typically defend the objective point by myself as a tank, like Winston, but I get face rolled as a healer.

I've also grown to really hate El Dorado, especially when you have to move the car in PVP. Guaranteed I'm on the team where no one wants to play the tank so I play one and then no one takes out the stupid Widow on the rooftops that snipes the spawn doors ...so that Widow sits there uncontested sniping everyone.


Frustrations aside I'm having a blast playing the game. When I keep landing the horrible teams in PVP I switch to PVE. When those get annoying I either take a break or switch back to PVP so having the option is great. I had to start the game on Monday since Amazon delayed my shipment but I'm already rank 19 so ranking up is pretty fast. I only got to rank 8 in beta.

Maybe I should post more often so I don't feel the need to type everything I feel about the game in one post (i.e. wall of text).

totally ... Multiplayer Online Battle Arena is ... pretty much any mmo's that isn't a RPG ... and ultimate are not "lol'esqu" but i like to think of them more as a "frag grenade" in CS it was just as annoying as the ulti are in Overwatch, skills and alt fire mode give the character personality and make them more likable and distinct...

what i think in Overwatch is unnecessary is "Ranked mode" just like in any other MMO's with "Ranked" play, the only thing you will get from it, is toxic community and noxious "E-Leetist"... you know the "plebe and the Elite" ...

they could do a worldwide tournament, but keep the ranked out of the game ... to not ruin the fun... oh well as long as "quick play" "vs AI" are still possible ... i don't mind a ranked mode ... but it will be an unused mode for me (and the less used would be quickplay ... mainly because playing without dedicated team is more fun in "vs AI")

Dang, you are lucky on your loot boxes. At rank 19 the only cool skins I got are:
- Zenyatta - Ascendant (pink/epic)
- Mei - Rescue Mei (yellow/legendary) ...this one is pretty cool and my favorite of hers but she sticks out like a sore thumb so maybe not the best for PvP

That's it. A whopping two. I'm not even sure what I got instead though it feels like I'm 5+ on dupes. I did get 250 coins on one loot box so I can use that to buy any Epic skin which is pretty cool. Pretty sure it is going to be Genji's Carbon Fiber so thanks for confirming you like it.

You got my favorite Mercy skin. That's also my favorite Bastion skin. I liked him in Beta when I first started but I can't bring myself to play him now because it annoys me how quickly he takes you out in sentry mode, but I understand why people play him. And as much as it sucks getting taken out in less than a second from him I have to admit he is a perfect defense character. But going up against him and Torbjörn on the same team is very tough.


As far as rank play goes they had planned on it being active already but their initial tests had poor matchmaking results (mediocre players being matched up against very skilled players) so they backed off. They plan on releasing Rank Play by the end of June now, but as you said just avoid it if it doesn't interest you. The idea is to give rewards to those who participate and of course the higher the rank the better reward. Knowing Blizzard I'm sure they will give rewards for even the casuals like me so there is higher participation. It is a good sign they are taking matchmaking seriously as many FPS games just rush out their matchmaking to make a date and then tweak it down the line which usually results poorly. The fact they are holding off rank play until they at least get a workable solution is a good sign. I know I don't want to get pitted against pros. I normally don't get involved in rank ladder matches but if the rewards are tempting enough I will give it a whirl.

As far as elitists go, you will have that in every game no matter what because people are competitive by nature and are always trying one up people. I see it everywhere. Not just games, but on forums and hell every day on the road in every day life. Blizzard hopes to make Overwatch its next franchise after StarCraft. I don't think it will ever be as epic as StarCraft because hell the Korean military has units dedicated to StarCraft. In its peak, StarCraft players were the biggest stars in Korea. That's permeation no other game can claim but I think they would be happy to keep the Overwatch name alive for many years like StarCraft, Diablo and WarCraft have done. In order to do that they have to appeal to the competitive try hards. They already have a formula that appeals to the every day gamer so ranked matches fills the void for the competitive types. Since everyone has access to the exact same skills and guns versus games where guns can have random perks means it has a formula ready for ranked/tourney play.

I love Overwatch and plan to play it as much, if not more than TF2 (550+ hours).

My only problem is honestly the matchmaking. I hate being paired with people wet-behind-the-ears. Everyone starts out inexperienced but generally should learn together instead of causing problems for more experienced plays. THE TIMES I'VE HAD THREE BASTIONS ON ATTACK SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING ANYMORE.

But generally, I love playing support, but do occasionally enjoy the other classes.
