Yeah, I am actually gonna flash them with the upper limits raised for CCC to be on the safe side, RBE has a standard option to raise threshold to 800mhz and 1300 on the memory, I'll do that tomorrow night and then see what these babies can do.

Hmmmmm this went up a bit, still cannot sort this overdrive/rivatuner issue so still locked on 735mhz But this has already well surpassed my GTX260 with slower CPU and Vista.

Before using Riva, disable Overdrive. Mine even has issues with a single card if I don't disable Overdrive before using RT.

I have tried that and everything else, turned it off completely in MSconfig, stopped all CCC services and also tried that new ATI tray tools but still no joy beyond 735 which ATM is the CCC and therefore driver upper limit although for the single cards I have no issues going beyond.......wtf? So I suppose after I have flashed them I will have to re-install the 8.11 drivers again otherwise they will still hold the 735 upper limit as apparently they read that from the BIOS on installation.

I don't see the point in you making any more arguments here until this is done. The only reason this thread needs to be locked is because of you coming in here and harrasing other members. Do not post in this thread anymore. Proof will come.. and if it doesn't, well perhaps you can then sit back with a sense of self satisfaction knowing you were right. Thanks, but proof was posted at post 85 (like any proof, it's not watertight), in as much as I ran COD world at war at 800mhz, enabled rivatuners OSD to show the speed, recorded it through fraps (20 mins of play, recorded in a 2gig file!), played the recording in Media player 11 and then took a screenshot showing all the details.............as I said, I am not going through a half day exercise in dismantling my PC and making a 30+ minute film of me starting up the computer, looking inside blah blah that I know now will take about 3gig of filespace and post it where? That is much more than youtube's limit, a fairly pointless exercise if noone can get to actually see the evidence.

probably time to modify drivers or use omega drivers.

Well, to cut a long story short, flashed both cards with the same BIOS that raises the GPU limit to 800 in RBE, both flashes worked fine, have tested both cards individually in both PCI-E slots, no problems but now I cannot get them to work in crossfire no matter what i do, I just get BOSD as I enter windows every time as CCC auto detects the 2 cards therefore enables crossfire, I can prevent CCC from starting up by going to MSconfig and sometimes I am OK on the one card without Crossfire enabled, as soon as I go to enable it (GPU-Z and ATI tray tools both recognise 2 GPU's)...then yes....you guessed it......BSOD again! In the split second I have in the BSOD it looks like something like ATImag (orATImak). something and looks like a memory address error?

Now I have re-installed Windows twice, cleaned and re-installed Cat 8.11 like 4 times.....could it be that both cards have identical BIOSes so CCC thinks they are the same and gets kind of confused? Any idea's anyone, otherwise I am going to have to try a re-flash to old BIOS.

Try giving the 8.12 beta drivers a go, or the finals will be here in two days. There seem to be alot of bsod's with crossfired 4850's and 8.11's for some reason.

yeah, just strange though that they worked fine before the flash but not since, also, in the 4850 knackered Xfire thread it refers to Vista 64bit being the problem also and I am on 32bit, however my symptoms are identical to his, I'll try the 8.12 beta's thanks.

Yep, 8 pin with both, whats the BIOS......the existing BIOS is 62KB? It is working now by the way after about 10 hours of turmoil, problem is I had to flash the cards back so at the moment I am stuck with the 735 mac CCC overclock again

Lol forgot it was a zip file! I will check it out thanks, did you get it from a friend in Palit Ohhhh and beleive it or not, I use Winflash which works very well and therefore does not need the commands.

Ww, thats some upper limit! I have done some minor updates on voltages (6 + 9 need to be at 1.158V)......I am going to risk another 10 hours of heartache and flash this tonoght thank you.......I think it's just having to take one card out at a time....flash.....then swap and flash again....then finally reboot again with the 2 cards that kind of messes up the setup.

I suppose I could use it as an opportunity to update to Cat 8.12 final just to increase the chances of a mega cock up!

because they only focus on 1 card systems and think 2 cards dont need overclocking, or there is something in the drivers preventing oc of both cards, perhaps you should make reports on their forums to see about getting oc in Crossfire implemented.
