jc316 here got around 3.4 with an ac7 on his e4300 allendale. not sure about the e2xxx series about they are allendale so idk. i'd theorize you could get 3.0 with a good cooler. maybe 2.3ish on stock as cold said

oh sure, i can come up with a great system on newegg in a matter of 5-7 minutes. just hit me on msn(you too jr if you'd like lol) and it'll make things easier, its not like i need the post count .

I'm going to think about it a few days and throw things at my dad and when he tells me his budget I'll let you know.. probably be somewhere in the 1000 dollar market... he'll tell me more but I don't want to spend to much... I know my dad...

And I forgot to put.. I'm at 3.4 with a cheap heatsink.. I can go around 3.8 if I want, but I really don't like the temps on it... a 50 dollar heatsink is one of the next to get on my "wish list"

your performance has doubled... its two cpus on one chipset.. here

with this you can see that I am looking at your thread, watching a dvd, and I am only using up about 14 percent of my processors...

and this is being run on vista ultimate...

just because you have 2 cores, does not mean that its double the performance. you cannot say, well the cpu runs at 2.5g on each core, and since there are 2 cores, i'll get an effective 5.0g out of the cpu. (this is a common ebay scam btw) a dual core cpu is like trying to get a huge crowd(like 500) through a standard doorway, sure a dual core cpus is 2 logical processors within 1 physical processor and both logical processors(cores) run at a speed of say 2.5ghz. both cores can work at the speed but they are bottlenecked by the door in the above example. the door being a combination of the architecture of dual core cpu's themselves and the socket. this is why multiple cpus are preferred over multicore cpu's.

lol but cold is right, you'll see double and if not more of a performance boost from going from a single core p4 to a C2D. but i just didn't want cold to think it was double because of the core count.
