Patriot's new Wildfire SSD is based on the popular Sandforce SF-2281 controller, but is advertised as "enterprise" model by Patriot. In our real-world testing we are amazed by the drive's performance, which makes it the fastest Sandforce SSD we tested so far, even the mighty Intel 510 SSD is only 1% ahead.

Awesome drive! I want one so badly.

Also W1zz when you do the Windows 7 start up time, what do you use to do that?
I use a script to run a reboot so you can tell how long it takes to shutdown and back on. I think it would be fun to compare times if I don't need some sort of device.

Memory 1.25 gb kingston hyperx @333mhz/ 3gb corsair dominator xmp 1600mhz
Video Card(s) (agp) hd3850 not bad not really suitable for mobo n processor/ gb hd5870
Storage wd 320gb + samsung 320 gig + wd 1tb 6gb/s

Actually you can just warn user to use a Sf-2281 ssd.

dammit i was tempted to buy one this weekend, but now dabs has removed it altogether:wtf::shadedshu:twitch::cry::slap:

i had no bsod issues with the firmware i used (3.2.0 as stated in the review)

That isnt the real point, every Sf-2281 SSD will do Bsod under some circumstances with the wrong firmware.

The point is which Sandforce Release does Patriot uses, the only company so far I know that's gone around the Bsod Bug is Extrememory.

A New option would be helpful, any word from Patriot?

i'm hoping that i only need to update the firmware, as i was going to get this specific version (120 gb) but dabs has stopped selling it, so i'll have to get the 240 gb version instead

i'm just hoping these bsod don't get worse the larger the drive you get :eek:

The Bsod is an Controller/Mainboard and so on problem, the size doesnt matter
