hmmm... i'm not sure if something is up with toms graphs there, as its confusing as hell. 8600GT is faster sometimes, but incredibly slower at others.

well if its truly faster i'd take it to upgrade the GF's machine then. hers is the DDR2 model, so if toms used the DDR3 model, the results would be even further apart.

i BIOS modded it as a prank years ago to an '8800ABCDEFGT2GIRLS1CUP' to fuck with him, but the card still works fine last i saw it.

8800GT's are still quite fast. I know someone with one that plays BF3 on low quite well.

he's running 5870 crossfire, the 8800gt was just his spare. if i swap for the 8600gt, he gets a better spare (less power for diagnostic, no PCI-E power needed) and my missus gets a gaming boost.
