PC just dies

Hi guys sorry not so sure where to post this, but my pc is fine on all other games that i play overwatch. rocket league. worms .

Its just when i put rainbow six siege on i get a event ID 41 Kernel-power system problem thats what event viewer says anyway.

I have tried reinstalling the game same result, i have tried changing all the power cables and untangling them etc.

I have even switched memory slots on my pc to no avail im at a loss as in what to do, i dont want to give up on the game as i enjoy it.

My pc is on windows 7

specs are as follows.

AMD fx6300 black edition

Radeon r9 270x

8gb ram

any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated kind regards Paul

Ah i had just replaced the psu with a replacement for the faulty one i thought i had so not that unless they are both faulty with the same fault

Disable all overclocks if there are any.
Update your graphics card to the latest version. (beta driver. The beta drivers are fine. Amd could make them WHQL certified, but then they would need to pay microsoft
to check if the drivers are good. which is unnecessary.)

for the 270x this is the link:

this is the 64 bit driver.

Update other drivers to the latest version
check if game is on latest version.

I'd say motherboard can't handle the power draw, it's a L.E. board so not the best.

it seems strange it only happens on rainbow six siege a newer better more intensive gfx i would say it doesnt crash overwatch is the game :-/

Usually it is the Light Edition, with limited features to reduce costs.
The power phases will be reduced compared to a fully featured board and limit the delivery of power.

For AMD processor it's better to use HWInfo : https://www.hwinfo.com/download.php
Download and run (choose Sensors only).

Your board is not a bad board, but the "naked" (heatsink-less) VRM can cause temperature problem(s).

just 1 thing tho when im playing the game how will i be able to tell what the temp is sorry im kinda ok with PC's just not great :-/

yeah I missed the amd part.

speedfan has an overlay if I remember right so you can monitor it while playing.

If you use HWInfo, it records the highest CPU temps

The ID41 [I think] means windows didnt get a crash dump saved.

Just to be clear, what happens exactly? You start up Rainblow 6 and the PC shuts off?

yeah id41 kernel power is a hard crash. pulling the power cord/reset button, failing PSU, and thermal shutdown are the most common reasons that I've seen.

Well just start the game up play for a few moments or minutes then its just like someone pulls the power lead out :-/
