PC randomly freezing

Hey TPU, i give you a challenge. Lately my computer has been freezing for no reason (or so i think) I have noticed that it happens mostly when im playing CounterStrikeSource and Left 4 Dead 2. Just to let you know, its not freezing that happens for a couple of seconds, its a full on, "your computer needs to be restarted" type of freezing.

64 bit windows 7
XFX 4890 XT @900/1000
AMD X4 II @ 3 Ghz
4 corsair 800mhz DDR2 Ram

Any suggestions or input?

Just a thought, but have you tried removing the over clock on your 4890 and see if this fixes the problem? If my crossfire setup is clocked to high the video display driver will freeze. Test with stock clocks and see if that fixes your problem.

could also be mem issue i noticed in your system specs you say 4-4-4-12 kinda stable, that very well could be your problem. try running memtest to be sure, also keep an eye on your temps.

This has been an issue before on some hardrives over the years.
Check your hardrive model and google search to see if theres been any problems with that model of drive.
There could be a firmware update fix.
