PC turn on, but no graphic on monitor

this happened to me and my friend the other day, its was the ram that we put in apparently it didnt work with his board+ am3 processor. he put his old 4gigs in and BOOM! HEADSHOT, everything was up and running fine.

I found out the problem. My mobo was shorted
