Highly anticipated version of Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC is now available for pre-order. Launching on November 5th, this game will be available for pre-purchase starting from today until October 22nd, when the pre-order period will end. For now, ordering is exclusive to the Rockstar Games Launcher, Rockstar's version of Steam/Epic Store for its own games.

For all pre-purchases, Rockstar has prepared a heap of extra bonuses. For starters, users can choose any two games from the selection of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto:Vice City, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Bully: Scholarship Edition, L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition, Max Payne 3: The Complete Edition, for free. Additionally, every pre-purchase made through Rockstar Game Launcher will result in a free upgrade to the premium edition of Red Dead Redemption 2, where ultimate and special edition will get a $20 discount if users want to upgrade. Furthermore, there are additional bonuses that include Outlaw Survival Kit for Story Mode, War Horse for Story Mode, Le Trésor des Morts Treasure Map for Story Mode, Cash Bonus for Story Mode, 50 gold Bars for Red Dead Online. To add thing up, PC port of RDR2 will feature updated graphics to harness the power PC graphics cards offer with features like HDR for better visual effects.

i don't get it... So if i buy special edition i can upgrade it to ultimate for free right? And then what about this 20% discount when there is no standard edition to buy...
just woke up.. slow hehe

If you pre-order game through Rockstart Game Launcher, you are automatically upgraded to the premium edition of the game. You can then use a 20% discount on ultimate and special editions

For comparison, if anyone cares, the minimum specifications for Red Dead Redemption 2 are mostly higher than the recommended specifications for Grand Theft Auto 5 (disregarding the AMD processors and memory). I believe RDR2 is using the same Rockstar Advanced Game Engine (RAGE). Of course, GTA5 was developed during the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 era with a September 2013 release, followed by the current-gen consoles in November 2014 and, finally, the PC version in April 2015.

Grand Theft Auto V Recommended Specifications:
  • OS: Windows 7 SP1/8/8.1/10 64-bit
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-3470 / AMD FX-8350
  • Memory: 8GB
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 2GB / AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB
  • HDD Space: 72GB
  • Sound Card: DirectX compatible

Pre-order RDR 2: 1) Get 2 free games 2) "FREE" upgrade - not really - it is just a bump from standard edition to "SPECIAL" or "Ultimate" edition which any version will cost huge $$$.

You may find it fun to hogtie people up and place them on train tracks. I mean, in the game of course.

There is lots of morbid fun things to do in RDR2. Once I get a larger SSD, I plan on getting this.

This is a hard one for me, cause Take2 (owner) can suck a fat one, they are evil. Rockstar on the other hand are incredibly talented.
What an unfortunate thing to have.

I’m buying it now, whatever I do not care to wait months for cheaper price.

That's great. I just don't like their strategy of releasing it for consoles at full price, waiting until sales have slowed, then releasing it for PC for full price.

Gta V they got to mix in the generation swap and release it three times for full price.

I don't see the problem. Anyone expecting to run modern demanding games should have at least 16GB anyway. And RAM is fairly cheap at the moment.

Thing is, you then have to have two game overlays in place. That’s nuts. That’s the source of most people’s problems in such setups.

This game has already sold around 25 million copies on console alone. It's already a huge success.

Everything Rockstar makes in recent years is a huge success... I guess you just posted a random comment? If so yeah I agree. Seems like a redundant thing to say though.

Regardless, I will wait for patches and a sale in 2020 like I do 99% of modern games. Heck even Half-Life got an update this week to help with high refresh monitors... lol

Did the consoles not have HDR? Am surprised by this since they have been on top of it better than the PC space. Altho I do hope they managed to do a better job with it than what I experienced with RDR1, it was so badly implemented in that game that it is literally the only time Ive ever had to turn it off.

And thats great to read about the recommended specs! I game at 4K high refresh, but Im comfortably over those specs, so I should be fine, right... ? ............. -_-
Why even bother with them, it reads - Is your PC less than a decade old? The game will start up! Is it only half a decade old? Oh you're golden! Whats that? What setting you say? Oh no, no we dont do that around here. Too technical!!

tbh I know very little about consoles but I googled it and the PS4 and Xbox One do support HDR. I guess some of those features were added to the consoles after release of the game.

If your 2080 Ti isn't enough then the only card faster is the RTX Titan but it's only a little faster and costs twice as much. Not worth it imo unless you also do some kind of work with your rig that would benefit from the Titan.

I dont even think the 2080ti is worth it, so I certainly wont be buying a Titan XD
