My PC will not load past the bios. ( specs to the left ) When I enter the bios the date and time are wrong, battery??

In the bios set the time to the correct one. See if it boots. You don't need a battery until you shut it down

I can change the date but not the time. have to find the motherboard manual

that is a typical problem with a Battery about to Die
Has the M/B Bios battery been Replaced ( from New)?.
if not then your be Advised to replace that Battery (they cost approx $1)
Replace that Battery ( with System powered down )
boot System
enter bios
set Date/time and then go thru all other Settings
save Settings
Reboot
Problem Should Disappear and normal function of Pc Resumes

The time is not as important but you just tab to it. Does it boot?

nope, that didn't do it.
In boot options usb key is first then hard drive, is that correct?

when it powers on t will go to the motherboard logo, then screen go black except for a blinking tab in the top left. Thats as far as it goes

it is the original battery

when Battery Dies and its Replaced
You lose all your basic Bios Settings (Same as clearing Cmos)
you have to go thru all the Settings and Set them Relevant to your attached hardware
then Save them (system will then Reboot)

Did you install the graphics drivers and then it wouldn't boot? Did it work before?

thanks for the info. local store does not have watch batteries. have to get one in town tomorrow.
i will post back if i have any more trouble.

Replace that battery dude and all your problems go away. You can get them at your local supermarket nowadays, so it's real convenient too. It's most likely a CR2032.

That Battery is ( a CR2032 )used in many Devices from medical Devices / toys / Car key fobs.
i always keep a few around
Your local Gas Station may carry them
you never know when your need one

I ordered 100 of them from China (very inexpensive on EBay) and used all of them over time. I have ordered the second hundred of them and have used about a third of them already.
It's always good to have them around.

Well I put in a new battery and reset the date and time and it still will not start. hangs up right after the motherboard logo. just has a blinking dash in the top left corner

did you set the bios to have it boot from the ssd first? try unplugging the 1tb drive and just boot from the ssd which I assume you are using for the OS drive....?

Sounds like drive detection issues, reset the cmos, ensure boot priority is set to the os drive first. Check all power and data cables, if need be just have your os drive hooked up. Swap power and data cables even. If no dice your os drive might be bad.

I'm assuming that you can get into the BIOS during startup.
Once you're in your BIOS, (or EFI in some cases) look for references to your hard drives or storage.
Change its settings from IDE or RAID to AHCI.
Save this with F10 key and try to start the system.

I'd suggest trying a Linux live boot from an USB or something, just to make sure what causes the issue, the motherboard or the drive.

To my experience I've never known a MB not too boot even with a dead Battery as the PSU gives it power...
