for those wondering what he is referencing here is the quote from the article

Kumar has reiterated that AMD remains "on track to launch our next-generation Zen 3 CPUs and RDNA 2 GPUs in late 2020," which suggests to me that we're looking at sometime around September/October for Big Navi if it is to beat the new games consoles to launch.
"Big Navi is a halo product," Kumar goes on to say, "enthusiasts love to buy the best, and we are certainly working on giving them the best."

Benchmark Scores I once clocked a Celeron-300A to 564MHz on an Abit BE6 and it scored over 9000.
I'm placing my bets now that it'll be "Navi 64" (so 64 CU and 4096 shaders) rated at 295W like Vega64 but using an open reference cooler like the Radeon VII and RTX cards
$999 price tag, just to undercut a 2080Ti

If AMD's 50% performance/Watt improvement is to be believed then it should comfortably match or beat a 2080Ti but the problem is that the 2080Ti will be a three-year old card by October. Big Navi was already 18 months overdue when the 5700XT launched.

3080Ti is claimed/rumoured to be 40% faster than the 2080Ti. Let's assume that is FUD and exaggeration, and it's only 25% faster than a 2080Ti - that's still a LOT faster than a 5700XT. about twice as fast actually, and do we really think AMD are going to make a 5120-shader Navi card AND have room for raytracing hardware on top of that? It's still 7nm and the 2560-shader Navi10 is already using most of TSMC's 7nm interposer. Perhaps AMD will pull a "Zen" chiplet approach and dump two smaller GPU dies onto a package...?

Well if "Big Navi" performance like a RTX 2080 Super / Ti for half the price it will be win win but that's just a dream :fear:

why would they sell a big die for half the price of 2080 Super if they're selling a 250mm one for the price of a 2070.I think they actually wanted to price it $50 dollars higher but 2060S and 2070S came out.

then you'd get a 2080S for the price of a 2080S.Fantastic.

2080S and 2080Ti are actually not worlds apart in performance.15-20%.Nice but is it enough for a whole generation to beat last gen by that much ?

There is no compute units count limit on Navi as it had been present on Vega.
Navi has already been stated as double the CUs of Navi 10, so Navi 21 will be 80 CUs or 5120 shading processors.

bow chika bow wow, here we go!!!!

AMD has confirmed that the oft-rumoured Big Navi graphics card will be its first RDNA 2 based product. Also known as Navi 2x, or simply Navi 2, this will be an enthusiast graphics card, and AMD sounds like it's trying to deliver PC gamers the Radeon version of Nvidia's Titan or RTX 2080 Ti graphics cards.

The X in 1X, 2X and 3X means given numbers, as in Navi 10, Navi 14, Navi 21, Navi 22, Navi 23, etc.

Horay, today's "quoted as fact" is a rumour from _rogame, a young website with no history and a twitter account that's barely 6 months old.

FYI, reliable sources are rarely more than 50% correct, and even then, they don't hide from their history of inaccurate predictions and leaks. I typically read back a year of rumours and leaks to see if they're even close to what actually transpired.

Honestly, nobody here knows what RDNA2 is going to look like yet, we haven't even seen so much as a die shot yet - that's why we're speculating. Either join in the speculation or don't, but please don't try to pass off rumours and speculation as fact just because you saw it on the internet.

this is just another bunch of speculation.
24/32gb on a 512-bit bus,come on....
it says nothing about the CU count,it says 505mm2,which,again,comes from god knows where.

only kinda confirmed info is +50% perf/wat
5700xt achieved 56% over vega 64

which translated to 17.5% more performance at a slightly lower power

what can they achieve at +50% perf/wat and let's say power raised above 250w once again ? there's a 1.56x gap to 2080Ti.

Hopefully they have a bigger product stack on launch this time around. Having a halo product on day 1 is cool and all, those are the ones that attract customers after all, but those arent the ones that make the paper.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
Cannot wait!!!! I'd like to see it beat Ampre's flagship Ti, but not holding my breath. I'll bet it still comes in priced a lot more reasonably which should have an effect on ampre pricing. :)

Anyone else giggle at the statement, "....exciting features like ray tracing..."? :p

Does anyone know if this is an unofficial render or something AMD put out?

Speculation is when you are guessing something. The person there stated as a fact that Navi 21 has been taped out and has arrived in the said facility.

Super-giant-class Navi's first machine just arrived at the Gods star late yesterday night, number 21 This is also the best body ever in Tiangong (-505 mm2), directly than the ordinary version of Navi double

this looks genuinely fake
like rtx cooler with a red outline
but they need a custom type referenece cooler asap,it drives the aib prices down.
I paid 2550pln for the trio cooler while reference costs 2400pln.there's a much bigger premium on premium custom versions of 5700xt
