Pci-e x1 Wireless N card (or sound card)

So my 5850 arrived and covers one of my PCI ports... which I need for my wireless G card or my Xonar DS... I am more satisfies with the DS than the Wireless G card though, but it was a cheapo 18$ card so yea...

I need either a good PCI-E x1 Wireless N card or a great deal on a pci-e x1 sound card... any of you guys care to help?

newtekie: a bit in the high end of my price range but looks nice...

I have a wrt160n if that changes anything... and packet monitoring or wtv mode would be a nice plus

I like ASUS... and 27$ :eek:

distance from router is about... less than 50 feet and no walls to 1 wall/door in the way

are USB receivers any good?

btw the ASUS I can get at 24.xx$ + 10$ ship (can be waived since I will be build a comp for a cousin) + 5% tax

the D-link same thing but with 74.XX$

I heard it's best to stick with the same company? so I should get a linksys receiver?

Theres no point with sticking with the same company, just think about laptops.

Besides, even in identical models, it may use different chip-sets, in the end, only like 4 major companies make them (Intel, Ralink, Atheros, Broadcom) AFAIK.

On USB adapters, I've had horrible luck the 2 D-links I had, it kept on dropping signals no matter what I did. So I personally prefer internal ones.

I'm using a USB stick and it's rockin'. No speed difference than an ethernet cable or Linksys PCI card. All 3 were wireless N adapters, same for the router.

I have a X-fi MB(X-fi software soundcard riser) audio card that came with my Crosshair III I'll never use if you want it. I'm not 100% sure it will work in a regular x1 slot so that will give me a reason to try it out tonight and report back to you if interested.
