PCIE cables for 3080

Hey I'm buying a 2x8 pin powered 3080 and I was wondering if these cables ( https://ibb.co/RBr34HR ) on my 750 watt psu will be enough to power it without risk or do I need 2 seperate 8 pin cables?

You need 2 separate PCIe 8pin cables. It's rated for 320W, so there's definitely more than 150W being pulled per cable which would be out of spec for a single cable that splits into two.

the pcie connector gives 75W, so its 375W total available with 2x8 pin cables.

But you are wrong, as t hose two are on the same cable, they need to be from two separate cables/connectors on the PSU as per the information provided by Nvidia.
Please don't give people bad advice, read up on things first instead.

Yeap and Nvidia is saying 750W required for the RTX 2080 on the same image, quality info.

We need to see real world power consumption though to be 100% sure that the 3080 watts as specs suggests.

I wouldn't use a double 8pin cable on a low quality psu though.

The PSU this is something more than a printed label.
NVIDIA recommendations are based at REAL 750W PSU, them under test they deliver a peak of 1090 Watts with out destruction as New.
In simple English, if you are up to getting an 3080 then add in your bill and the fresh power supply for it.

AFAIK that only applies to the 2x-8-pin-to-12-pin-adaptor that will be supplied with the Founders Edition cards, since the 12-pin is allowed to draw up to 600W.

Which is academic anyway, since the maximum draw of 350W for the top-tier 3090 is well within the ability of the PCIe slot + 2x 8-pin connectors which provide up to 375W - as @Gungar has already noted. Now, if you're doing extreme overclocking on a FE and blow past that 375W max, then you're liable to run into trouble if you've been unwise enough to stick that adaptor on a single PCIe cable with twin 8-pin connectors - but only then.

Personally I think the 12-pin connector is DOA. Nobody but NVIDIA wants to use it, and extreme overclockers aren't likely to be using FE cards to set records (if they do, they won't make the mistake of plugging the power adaptor in contrary to NVIDIA's guidance). Seems mostly like fearmongering created by the fact that NVIDIA needs to cover its ass with respect to legal action when somebody does manage to blow up their PSU due to plugging that adaptor in wrongly.

Electrically and as far as the PSU is concerned this is same as 2x8-pin.
Follow the PSU manufacturer's recommendations - usually they strongly recommend using two separate cables.

Use two separate cables and connectors on the PSU.

If you don't plan to use overclocked (Intel) CPU together with 3080, then 750W PSU will be enough. If you want use overclocked CPU and 3080 in one system then buy new PSU (and you will be ready for 4080 in 2022 ).
