My current storage setup is:
Crucial MX200 500GB as both boot drive and software drive
WD Black 5TB for storing all my work data, and a few games.
WD Black 2TB in RAID1 for storing all my photos, music and video.
Backing up to a 2TB My passport.
It functions OK but I am running out of space on my Crucial SSD fast due to the amount of Linux programs I have installed. For long term purpose I want something that can take a large amount of data at great speed. Also over 8TB of storage space.
Plan A:
1. Buy a 1TB M2 NvME SSD, either a 960EVO or a 960PRO. This will be used as system drive as well as some applications.
2. Buy another MX200 500GB, form a RAID0 with the old one. This will be used as game drive.
Everything else remains the same.
Plan B:
1. Buy another MX200 500GB, form a RAID0 with old MX200 and use as system/application drive.
2. Sell all current hard drives. Buy two enterprise level 8TB helium HDD in RAID0 for game/data/photos and shit.
Plan C:
1. Sell all drives.
2. Buy a 2TB NvME SSD for system/application/game. Buy a single enterprise 10/12TB HDD for everything else.
What do you think? What will be your suggestions? Thanks.
