Petition for ATI to bring CPanel back

Catalyst 5.12 drivers were the last to be bundled with the old control panel. At least with 5.12, there was an option between the old control panel and the new CATALYST Control Center .NET. We are up to version 5.13 and you are now forced to use the new Control Panel, the old one is no longer an option. By signing this petition you are telling ATI you might be boycotting future purchases of ATI hardware.

Original control center lives!!!

Hey guys, just to let you all know, there still is a way to get the latest drivers without getting the control center...at the downloads page go to "low speed - dial up" section and download the "display driver only" one...i did and I'm running 5.13 without the CCC! Tell me if you need a better explination...

is that from a fresh install though? I know if you already have a version of catalyst with CP installed and then install the new "DD only" package that works but I thought (haven't tried it though) if you install the DD only on a fresh install of XP then you don't get the extra tabs in advanced display properties.

hmm this wasn't a fresh install, i installed it after installing 5.9 (my computer had problems with 5.10)...if anything I still have an old copy of 5.9 lying around so if you guys need it i can put it on my server, but it's bandwidth is only around 90KB/s haha so it would be slow...try doing the dd install with 5.13 and we'll see what happens

I tried something...i took the files from my old 5.9 installation and replaced the drivers with the 5.13 ones...since mine's not a fresh install I have no idea if this actually will work...does anyone wanna be a guinea pig?

Catalyst is okay, but it takes a lot of system resources for some reason it takes a long time to load at start up. ATI needs an alternative for low end systems.

I've owned nothing but ATI grfx cards since the DVD decoder was a daughter card connected to the video card via the PCI bus and a ribbon cable connected the gigantic 4MB ATI video card, w00t, MASSIVE POWER! Anyways, I'm signing this petition because I think we should, at the very least, have a choice to use CP as opposed to CCC. Sorry ATI, CCC is cool and all, but it sucks up to many resources and RAM.....plus it takes forever to load, even on some of the fastest machines I've seen.
