Polish guy called Paweł Milanowski (Milans) has just broken an overclocking record of Phenom X4 9850 overclocking. He managed to jump from 2.5GHz stock clock to 3.7GHz with water cooling.

His secret weapon was DFI LankParty DK 790FX board and 1.48V voltage on the CPU but last time we tried with 790FX and the same CPU we could hardly go over 3GHz. Pawel used 1GB Crucial 1066 memory and 500W U33 PSU from Tagan. Good job Paveł.

Interesting, while most TPU members fail to even break past 3.0Ghz.... this guy is able to do 3.7Ghz...

and here I am and can't get my stable past 2.6Ghz. That is an awesome OC that should put him up with the gods of w/c!! Nice find.

Yep, I'm just shy of getting it (I won't raise the volts very high but I can boot at it) but over in my thread the highest so far is 3.456Ghz. Mine is at 3.1Ghz and some change 100% stable, I can do 3Ghz on all 4 cores with as little as 1.20v so I don't think it's the chip that's holding me back in the least bit...the boards & bios's need more time to mature is all.

Still at 2.6? I thought everybody screamed to return that chip. May be its your mobo.

It's that evil hateful ignorant power supply I'm still guessing...if I remember correctly using an AM2 board (M2 series) onry got his cpu up past 2.7Ghz so far...

yup its the m2n32 sli deluxe wifi edition and i have had it @ 2.73 but no higher i even swapped out my ram for some crucial ballistix and cant get any higher so far

Everyone who can't get passed 2.8 with decent cooling has the old southbridge. Apperently it's a lot easyer to overclock the CPU with the latest, most expenseive mainboards, because they have a new southbridge.

Yeah: i posted this earlier, regarding this new way to OC a phenom.

Still, that would mean the the dude managed a 3.3 GHz OC, without this "feature" and, from what i've read, that's a very good OC as well.
