i bought a 555 today with a Gigabyte 785g micro ATX board to throw together for a daily use machine or possibly an HTPC....board only cost me $65.00 plus i got a $15.00 MIR on it so after all the board was $50.00....NICE....

Might have to go back tomorrow and pick that mobo up. If they give me much grief, I will just return and rebuy the 555BE. LOL :rockout:

note that it will probably not support the phenom II... you'd have to go check though

If it supports AM2+ processors it'll support PII.

TDP could be an issue though.

Oh and also, this board definitively does not unlock cores... If you want a good AM2+ board that can unlock cores for cheap, it would either be the TA785GE or the M4A785-M, which will run you 40-42$ after the 30$ instant rebate

Yeah I thought about that. Not sure if I want to spend the extra money. I guess it would be good to have a backup board though. Hmmmmm, decisions, decisions.
