Thanks for that...Seem like sites reporting HTT clocking issues are off thier rocker...I seem to recall someone saying 235HTT would be hard...
No kidding......no board maker wants to admit they aren't ready yet!
jesus, look at the voltage on the proc -- 1.635 volts.
HTT >400 no problem with a few 890GX/FX board
Nice overclock with a 6core 45nm
Xs doesn't seem to have this issue on 790's either.
Also remember later phenom 1 overclocking was not htt limited as much I hit 275-300htt on a ch2 with a much later bios and 9750 so we see way high htt in the future
The 9100e i had refused to go past 255 no matter what i did 253 was the highest i could get stable..
Still, 255 is far better than Bit-Tech was hinting at...250x15 is 4ghz. I think 300x12 would be ideal, as turbo should then hit 4ghz.
I wonder why they posted that...like 450HTT isn't that big of a deal on Phenom2 under cold...so...
4ghz would be fine with me aslong as it would be stable 24/7 at that setting. I want to wait and see how these do now before i sell my i7
I had it up higher when it was on my 780a board...
my 790GX wouldn't go any higher..
From what I can tell in talking to a couple of people with chips, 4ghz and 2000mhz mem should be doable on most cpus, provided the mobo is up to the task. Hence my lack in interest in the CrossHair IV Formula, and why I'll take the CrossHair IV Extreme. I don't mind payig a bit more if it's gonna help.
If THAT doesn't happen, then i7 is coming my way...
Asus seems to have an upper hand in term of bios geared toward X6, DDR3 2000+ (elpida hyper specifically) and HTT >400 in both their 890GX and 890FX.
I just hope they are doing the same for Nforce 980a board....http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131636&cm_re=980a-_-13-131-636-_-Product
I'm ready to roll with GTX480 SLI on AMD
I think you just found my motherboard (if my i7 sells)
You know how this works allcomes down to the mobo 4ghz on a ch3 isn't the same as 4ghz on a gb or an msi
Ill let you know what it looks like on ch3
heh. Me too..so we'll see who gets the better chip.
Now that I have all 4 sticks of DominatorGT's, my current 955 @ 3.6ghz needs .5v less on cpu(1.325 now), .125v less on CPU/NB(1.2v bios now), and DRAM @ 1600-6-6-6 is 1.6v. Still hitting of 50c loaded un TRUE, but that's fine with me.
So, it seems like Crosshair 3 has already been tuned, the best I can tell...2 sticks of Dominator GT doesn't clock as well as 4. Go figure...
Anway, I just need the board and cpu, got everything else all covered now...altohugh my wallet's gonna get a little lighter...but if need be, I can always sell of one of my Gibson Guitars ...almost considering it now, for i980X...
I sent Asus an email to help with Nforce 980a bios, I hope they will work the bios for X6
Heres the latest beta bios for 890GX
Too much money though
We can get X6 1090T BE plus an HD5970 with that much
True enough. If it wasn't for that, I'd already have a chip. No employee or student deals for me...so no $600-$750 EE chips any more!
yep especialy FX and no real reviews on that yet the GX 890 is REALY fast so im expecting it to be faster.
current boards "barely " support 140WatT Cpus I don't see how this will NOT blow the Vdcc and mOFsets to hell
That's why these chips are so exciting, as the per-core power consumption had been greatly reduced...gonna get 3.2ghz 6-core @ the same 125w of 955BE(which is also now reduced to 95w).
Cool stuff, isn't it?
