I would put all your money into parts that can actually be utilized at the moment. If you finish doing that and you discover you have 156 more dollars to spend go for it. There are very few programs that utilize PhysX at the moment.

I would put all your money into parts that can actually be utilized at the moment. If you finish doing that and you discover you have 156 more dollars to spend go for it. There are very few programs that utilize PhysX at the moment.

dos a PhysX card go into a normal PCI slot or PCIe x16

yeah, a good processor should be good enough for now.

also physx does not improve performance what so ever...it does not take off the load from the cpu, but adds another graphics enchantment to the game.

The Physx COULD IN THEORY take load off the CPU. But the few games that are coding for it, make the Physx code completely optional... and as ktr said, the developers are using it for graphics enchantments only. ;P

The problem with using the Physx with core routines, is that it gets complex to code to make sure the "game experience" is the same when playing WITH and WITHOUT the card. It can be done. But requires building the game engine GROUND UP with the Physx card in mind, and not as a bolt-on afterthouhgt
