lol it was more of me having trouble with a bottleneck, trying to pinpoint the problem. I just ordered a Quad core for my LGA 755, so i shouldn't have anymore trouble come next week. ATM, the bottleneck i am having isn't too serious, its only affecting certain games and some flash browser games and i get these sound cracking issue, static sounds, but overall its not that bad. I just assume the e6600 can't keep up with my GTX 550 ti. So all is well next week!

Err... bottlenecking issues won't cause sound crackling. You've got an issue elsewhere. It's possible your audio might be clipping. Try turning down your volume (in Windows) to around 40% or so.

I'm not sure what it is exactly, I'm just guessing its because the e6600 is too slow to keep up with the card. Because i had a quad before, q6600 using my 550 ti and i never had this issue. When I'm playing music at the desktop, and i hit refresh, i hear some static, and the music will quickly stutter or dragged. When i have music playing and i open up steam lol, steam gets really slow and the music will start dragging and crackling. When i play browser games by flash ( which is crap anyway ) the framerate is horrible with massive stuttering and sound crackling with static. It only affects certain games, because Path of exlie for example at dx11 max 1400x900 i get 44-60fps easy. Golden source 60 easy.

Lowering the sound doesn't do anything, i don't have the sound high anyway. Once i get my quad next week, i will see did it fix the issue, if for some reason it didn't, i know its the MB. I do however get no sound issues unit i install the nvidia divers, meaning until the gpu is active. without the gpu, the sound issues are gone. I ran some test though

I'm not sure how that could be. Even though an e6600 is really old today, it was a stellar chip in its time. I can't imagine why it would struggle playing music and loading Steam. You already have a new chip on the way, so try that as you will... but I wouldn't be surprised if the problems persist. You may want to try ordering a sound card. If I remember right, those SoundMAX systems weren't the greatest...

Funny thing my sound creative blaster card just died it seems lol. But i have a Diamond Xtreme PCI card, and it works and even though i still get these weird static stuttering sound issues, its not bad like it was and recording is much smoother in games. So it did help a bit. But i still also get a weird bottleneck when playing flash browser games and a few older titles. So i will report back once i get my new CPU and let you know how did it fix all these issues. Peace

Alright i got my new CPU, fresh install windows 7, the 3 games which i couldn't run using the e6600, i still have the same issues and i still get sound static, crackling nosies, when running those 3 games, dragon-blood browser, crush online steam, and omikron nomad soul. I did the latency test each time i added a difference piece of hardware, its not the sound, its the GPU that causes the latency issues which i believe is causing the sound issues, but why is it only affecting certain games? i don't get it. Another thing, i remember running a q6600 and the same card, same os, using a different motherboard i never had this issue. So the only thing i can think of which is causing the problems is the motherboard, its old as hell anyway, 2006 and i bought it from a thrift store and it was dirty, dusty. So i guess i will buy a new motherboard, a different more to update to date one and see how goes. i STILL do not understand why its only affecting certain games, mostly older ones becasue path of exlie i get a 45-60fps easily at max settings, so i don't get it. And i haven't been able to figure out what the problem is , unless its the motherboard. And adding the GPU GTX 550 Just causes issues, but again why only certain games lol.
